The Monty

The Monty is a great place to stay. Terrific service, wonderfully renovated room with everything we needed.

The Monty was great value for money. The room was immaculate with lots of quirk design features that went with the vibe they were trying to create. Super impressed all round and would highly recommend.

At first glance, possibly because I arrived after dark, I wasn't sure about the external colour scheme, however, once I got into the room, I realised how cool the place was, rooms with a mix of 60s styling, but with all modern amenities, and well designed, practical furniture.
Super comfortable bed, spotlessly clean room, well designed dual shower head bathroom, all combined to be the perfect end for long days on my feet.
I was in the area for work but would definitely stay at the Monty again for vacation time.

Cute little retro motel in great location Very clean, pool great. Appreciated the herbal tea and Nespresso machineTraffic a little noisy during the day but quiet at nightEasy walking to pub and cafes

What a "hip" mid-century modern motel room. Everything worked well and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

Immaculate room excellent facilities perfect location friendly staff perfect!

Excellent. Very quiet. Comfortable bed. Very modern. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautifully renovated. Comfortable and in a great location

Exceptionally clean, great location. Super interior décor. Would recommend to anyone in Anglesea or travelling the great ocean road.

Fantastic renovation, small thoughtful touches make all the difference to create a luxe stay. Thick ovemrsized towels, pod coffee machine and bluetooth speaker little extras made this a perfect stay.

Cool Great Ocean Road stay

The accommodations was not easy to find in the dark, having never been to Anglesea before didnt really know what to expect. They need some outdoor lighting and signage. The premises has been painted recently, and they have all matching cutlery and coffee pods. I was in room 5 the bed was a bit too soft and the room was cold even with the heater on, which still really didnt make a difference as the heater is located away from the bed so it took ages for the room to warm up.

Its really easy to get this accommodation and the other one with a very similar name confused especially at night time in the rain. The owners were helpful and polite.
If your never been to Anglesea before like me be aware that everything shuts really early in July by early i mean 8.30pm - 9.00pm on both Friday & Saturday nights. There is no where to get anything to eat by 9.00pm in town. The nearest place to get something to eat and drink is going back for a 30km drive to Geelong. So if you want a bickie or soft drink you better take some.

First time to Anglesea

Perfect location! Quiet, comfortable, excellent WiFi and the added bonus of being able to use the facilities at the Great Ocean Road Resort! I used the gym and the indoor pool & jacuzzi - the former was great, the latter was too cold for winter use.
This was our second trip staying with these folks and it was just as wonderful the second time.

We'll be back!!

Hotel in great location close to shops, restaurants and beach.Room has been updated but bathrooms are still original but clean.Bathroom could do with some towel hooks and a small table to put items on as there is no bench space. Otherwise fine. Our room was quiet, away from the road.Great Palm Springs style gardens.Lovely staff too.

Great location close to everything.

What you would expect from a motel. Nothing flash but cheap and clean. I have read comments about the carpet stains, yes this time we had that room, it’s clean but stained with what looks like someone’s coffee spilt, carpet not suitable for purpose. Have stayed there before and no stains must be one room.

Motel room

Convenient. Welcoming. Totally clean. Well provisioned. Microwave, coffee pod machine, toaster, kettle, crockery, glasses, cutlery, tea towel and detergent. Fabulous shower and large towels. And a very comfy bed. Positioned across from the river and within walking distance of (nearly) everything in Anglesea. There was nothing not to like and we really enjoyed our stay.

Perfectly sited and right for us :)

We had to make arrangements for a late arrival and that went smoothly. The room was clean and actually had dishes, silverware and toaster (you never see this in a USA hotel). That made it perfect to fix a light meal in our room. Its next door to a convenience store so getting fuel, ice and snacks for the road was easy. We would definitely stay here again.
