Meridian Plaza by Beach Vacations

This is NOT a hotel. I have read all the reviews which are very mixed, some are terrifying, and I think a lot of potential guests are confused when reading the reviews. This building is comprised of privately owned individual condos, most of which are apparently leased through vacation condo property rental companies which are apparently contracted with and selected by the condo’s owners. There is no lobby, there is no room service, and every unit is very different. Amenities within your assigned condo are pre-arranged through the owner (laundry, cleaning, etc.) Every owner of a rental unit has either neglected their condo, skimped on contracted cleaning, maintenance, amenities, or made it the most beautiful and welcoming condo you have ever visited in your life. The unit we stayed in was oceanfront and was recently and completely redone; clean, beautiful, well stocked and the building itself was very well-maintained, I have no idea how to ensure that you get one of the nice places when you rent from a rental company. Perhaps someone with similar great experiences can chime in. My point of this post is, please don’t slam the Meridian Plaza itself. Each unit is privately owned and is handled by a rental company that the owner rents their condos through. The parking is convenient and safe, nearby, and the property security is fabulous, the grounds are well-maintained and safe. There is a clean and nice heated inside pool, as well as an outdoor pool with a well-maintained grassy area with lounge chairs for sunbathing. The property walkway to the beach is well-maintained, and convenient. The facility is on the beach, not on a backstreet. The building itself is completely non-smoking. If you need to smoke, there is a designated well-lit and maintained smoking area on the north side of the building with a place to sit and a place to dispose of your cigarette butts. There is a convenience store on the ground level with anything you may have forgotten when you packed for your vacation as well as a great assortment of beach attire and lots of stuff for the kiddos. If you have had a bad experience, go ahead and slam the rental company not the Meridian building. Insist on a pre-inspection of your assigned unit before you arrive and hold them to a high standard. Our unit was absolutely fabulous and we truly enjoyed this mini-getaway. No complaints on anything, just kudos!
