My Husband and I stayed there over the weekend and I'll tell you what! We called first,The manager told us he had available rooms. When we got there he 
told me all he had was 1 room open, but...it had holes in the wall . Weeell... When we got in our room there were 2 big holes in the walls a VERY broken down recliner to sit on, which couldn't be set on, and only one shower towel, wash cloth and hand towel.the bed was rock hard and couldn't be slept on. I wouldn't recommend them to my most hated enemies

This place sucks

 I needed a cheap room, but was I in for a surprise. The room was really small but worked for what I needed. The toilet seat was broken off, the shower disgusting, and the cold water didn't work in the shower. Do not stay here, go somewhere else!  The bed was rock hard, the sheets were stained. The only thing going for the room was the heater worked

I needed a place to sleep for one night and wanted to go on the cheap.  And that part I got right, it was cheap. The bathroom seemed okay until I got into the shower. The rest of the room was poor but at least clean. It was hard to find electrical outlets but it did work for one night...and it was cheap.

I booked this property on Hotwire and was amazed they would even represent such terrible motel. I will start out by saying that I am in the logistics business and spend 1-3 nights a week in motels. Have had wonderful experiences in other Imlay City Motels like the Super 8 I thought I would give Hotwire a shot. That when this horrible experience started. When I was on the booking page of Hotwire is showed logos for Super 8 and  Days Inn etc. so I felt comfortable with my decision. When I booked and it came back as M53 I was quite surprised. Being the Canadian Family day weekend and US Presidents day I felt I would have no other choice than to go there. First of all getting in the office to book was a problem, the door was locked and was not opened until I was "buzzed In". The office was so cold the pen I was presented to sign the guest card was froze. Now to the room. After climbing over a huge snow bank to get to the room there was an old screen door on the outside with screens all ripped out of it. Not that there would be any bugs at -28C. Upon entry to the room there was a bad moldy odor. Should have turned around then! The soap holders on the wall in the bathroom were ripped out of the wall. There was no plug for the sink but there was a piece of screen in the drain, maybe from the door! There was no WiFi as advertised as well as no outside line for phone. I decided to look through the phone book to look for menus for take out. Imagine my shock when a Durex condom package fell out of the phone book!! This was by far the worse experience I have ever had in any motel and I have stayed at  many. I was amazed that Hotwire would even represent a property like this!

Don't Do It!!!!!!

I would highly recommend that you think at least five times before booking this motel. After I had to go get the manager to open the door since the key wouldn’t do it, I walked in to a smelly, carpet stained, sink cabinet rotting, dried snot on the mattress, sink stained with “I don’t know what”, shower stall dirty, double bed instead of queen although he claimed at desk it was a queen, I am allergic to smoking and the room had the distinct odor of fresh smoke, it was supposed to be smoke free. Then they had the audacity to offer me another room, I at first rejected and then felt bad until I saw it. It too had dirty carpet but the toilet and sink were replaced but the walls were scuffed, carpet filthy…. I gave away my first night as a loss and found a place to stay that was clean. This is disgraceful, inexcusable, and unacceptable.

think again at least 5 times

We stayed at this reasonably priced motel for two weeks in September. The rooms were clean  and comfortable. Need some minor maintenance but overall in good condition. The manager and maids were very helpful. I liked the convenience of parking in front of my room and no other traffic.

2013 Season

Sketchy hotel is being too kind. The room had mattresses from different decades, burn marks thru the comforters, greasy hand prints on the walls, no irons, hair dryers, or toiletries provded. The pocket door to the bathroom never closed. The only ice available was a plastic tray from the owners fridge. The Motel appeared circa 1950`s with things added on and dilapidated from each decade in the room. How Priceline gave this a 2 star rating I will never know....
