Excellent value and great service. Stayed one night in a lovely room and had a delicious meal in the pub. Would definitely stay again.

The evening meal was excellent. Very comfortable beds and a great shower and bathroom. Breakfast was from 9am from a menu and therefore a relaxing start to the day.

Great place for a stopover on our way to Cornwall. Easy to find with easy parking and a good breakfast. Room was clean & tidy with a great shower!It is located right on the A35 so if you’re looking for peace &  quiet this may not be for you. We found it ok as we were exhausted from a long drive.

Really nice pub just outside Dorchester. Friendly staff that were helpful. The food is simple, yet very tasty and the carvery on Sunday was an unexpected treat when we got back from a day out.

Nice, if all you want is a "basic" pub room for the night. There was a good basic pub menu. A respectable sprinkling of locals seem to consider it where they go. Not a lot of "olde worlde charm", but the sheets were clean, the plumbing modern and worked. Good HVAC provision. I'd stay here again. Seemed to be owner/operated- always a plus in my book, and the people we met tried to please.

We we’re made comfortable from our first arriving. Very friendly, helpful staff, lovely room and a super meal in the evening. Breakfast was hearty with lots of options. It set us up well for our busy day in the beautiful area. We would love to return and spend much more time there when possible. Thanks to the great staff.

Newly refurbished rooms and inn were an absolute joy to be in. We stayed on a Sunday on our way back from a staycation in Cornwall and it was the perfect end to a family holiday. The Coach House inn features a very well stocked bar a varied menu and friendly staff. The Sunday roasts were epic and the included breakfast the next morning possibly the best I’ve had in any hotel. I’ve driven past this place before and hadn’t really considered stopping before. It’s definitely worth a look. A joy to visit and stay at. Highly recommended.

Family overnight stay and meal.

Coach & Horses Inn is located in small village. We had family room for 1 night on Sunday during last May weekend.Like in any other B&B Pub you have to ckeck-in before 8-9pm. Otherwise the Pub is closed and you will not get in. Please remember about that when you book this place.Our room was after a renovation so looked nice. The bathroom needed some upgrades but for 1 night didn't bother us. It was a message in the bathroom about wasting water and what you shouldn't do but if you want to get a shower's hot water you have to wait about 10-15 minutes. So not clever idea for saving the water. I suggest the owner to fix the shower asap. Also the bathroom should be more clean cause I could easily see dust.The room was located in the end of corridor on the first floor. It was free wi-fi but in this last room we couldn't get the signal. Also noise from the street woken us up in the morning at 6am.The breakfast was not bad. I had better ones but also worst so this one was just average.I would definitely come back to this b&b but will take more quiet room with good wi-fi signal.

Nice room and friendly staff

We stayed because of a family get together in the village, room was clean & comfortable, food was good and staff were helpful and friendly. Room faced main road so there was some traffic noise. Also we did not expect to be told that they were closing the bar at 9.30 on a Saturday evening! We had a drink with our meal so could not drive to another village or hotel and just went to our room.

Pleasant stay exept for closing times!

Another lovely stay with Sandy and the team visiting relatives in Dorchester. Rooms tastefully decorated and beds comfy. Tea and coffee in the rooms plus tv with dvd facility. Plumbing a little quirky; slow to run away and slow shower in room 5 but it's no major problem and is a good excuse for a bath instead. Breakfast is superb, cereals, juice toast and full English with the best scrambled egg we've ever had! Great range of good food in the restaurant for evenings and excellent range of wines and real ales too. As a family of 6, the two family rooms are perfect for us and we always look forward to coming back for another break at the Coach & Horses.

Lovely again!

Just returned from a trip to visit family down south. The Coach and Horses was a half way point between our two visits, but it is a good base for lots of lovely places in the area including Dorchester and Lyme Regis.The accommodation is being improved as I type. The rooms have been beautifully updated and I'm sure the en suite bathrooms will follow soon. The staff are excellent, particularly one of the Assistant Managers who is brilliant. Food is marvellous - breakfasts and the evening menu. Really worth a stay or a visit for dinner at least.

Really good and getting even better!

Stayed for one night on our way somewhere. Welcoming looking place, very well cared for flower baskets and pots, good reception from staff.Several people who were already dining told us how good the food was and the place had a really jovial atmosphere. Very busy for a Monday night. Evening food very much enjoyed but my husband did not much enjoy his breakfast-and I looked in horror at a 2 in thick pice of fried bread on his plate too. I did like my toasted doorstep though so check careful exactly what you will get.A different bottle of wine from the one we ordered came with our meal but was not charged for as we pointed it out.

Lovely country inn with a great atmosphere

Stopped for a one night stopover mid journey. Rooms perfectly adequate and comfortable and staff friendly and helpful.  The only real disappointment was the time it took to serve our evening meals, which seemed to be due two large parties booked in at the same time. Having said that, when the food did turn up it was good quality and  like wise our breakfast.

Nice hotel for stop off

Stayed for two nights for the second time this year to. Is it relatives in Dorchester and Bridport. The rooms now have attractive internal shutter blinds in addition to the tasteful decoration. Service again good and very friendly. Will definately be back when down this way again; we've found the perfect pub/hotel to stay comfortably with our 4 children for short breaks. Thanks again for a lovely time.
