We stayed at Woodlands whilst working at the NEC. Wendy is a wonderful host very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.
Our room was very comfortable and Wendy even supplied fresh milk for us to make tea and coffee. 
Breakfast was also nicely cooked with lots of things to choose from.
We really enjoyed our stay and I am sure we will be retuning when we next work in Birmingham.

I was definitely travel weary by the time I reached Wendy at Woodlands. However, the beautiful room, spotlessly clean and airy, went a long way to returning calm. Lovely bedding, fresh milk and a thoughtful supply of water, not from a plastic bottle (!) soon restored and recharged my batteries. Wendy is a fabulous host. Informative about local services as well as travel arrangements. Thank you Wendy, I really enjoyed my time with you - the calm before the storm!

Had the most pleasant stay at woodlands. Wendy was very welcoming and couldnt do enough to ensure your comfort.
The Bed was really comfy and i slept well. Breakfast was brilliant. If i am ever in the area again i will stay.

I would highly recommend the Woodlands Bed & Breakfast. Set in lovely surroundings, woodland and nearby canal. My room was spacious, very clean, with good decor. I had a very comfortable stay here & Wendy is a great host.

Lovely room, comfy bed and huge bathroom! Nice and quiet at night time so I got a restful night's sleep. Breakfast was delicious as well. Wendy was a brilliant host, very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The plates and cutlery provided for takeaways was very much appreciated! Would definitely stay again!

Wendy was very friendly and welcoming, a cup of tea as soon as I arrived!  The room was comfortable and perfectly situated for my needs. The breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented, I would recommend staying here!

Wendy is an attentive host who welcomes you warmly in her home. The rooms are spotlessly clean with comfortable beds and all the comfort you would have in your home. The decoration is modern and welcoming, you are not in a anonymous hotel room but in the house of someone who likes books. I have now staid 3 times and every time I felt welcome and comfortable. The rooms are very quiet. One room is ensuite, one room has its private bathroom. Each room has a TV and a hair dryer. The B&B is at walking distance (about 15 min) from Solihull Hospital where I was working. It is walkable from the station but not near (35 min about). The breakfast is freshly cooked with many options and served at your chosen time in a pleasant room. Overall an excellent city B&B

We chose The Woodlands after reading all the excellent reviews whilst working at the NEC last week...here is our verdict; ...for 5 nights!

FOR; Personal attentive welcome by Wendy,good parking,"twee" cosy atmosphere in room and breakfast room, super cooked breakfast with order taken night before.Quiet residential area close to Solihull Town Centre.Desk area and wifi.

AGAINST;Only 2 rooms,one with shower ensuite, and one with spacious bath and shower across the corridor...with weary "show" legs I thought I could have a bath in the non-ensuite...not so...I was felt to be a naughty boy for running such a bath when other guests complained...It had not been explained by Wendy/not in any of the House Rules....SO you must choose..a BATH or the no Bath room.Walls are paper thin so you can hear other guests snoring and night time trips to use THEIR bathroom ( ear plus are kindly provided).The bed mattress is not of Premmin size or quality... after 5 nights my back ached.The location of Woodlands is not easy to find without Satnav/good memory.Allow a 30 min wait for breakfast if the other guests are down before you.

SUM UP; Woodlands is what it is..a small 2 bedroom B&B that serves a purpose for a 1/2 night stay IF you need to visit the NEC and prefer a B&B v a Prem Inn...for us its back to a Preminn at the same £ with a bigger, more contemporary room, Bath/shower and a super comfy Hypnos King size bed!...Sorry Wendy!
