We had an excellent Sunday lunch.  Food was well cooked and tasty, with a nice select of vegetables.  Generous portions too.  My husband is quite fussy about gravy but had no complaints here.  Service was very good with the staff being welcoming.  Reasonably priced too.

We booked the Robin Hood for a birthday/father's day celebration with a party of 13 on a Sunday afternoon.
Our party wasn't simple including vegetarians, vegans and various other complications but the staff and kitchen were great and really helpful. All the food was lovely, with most of the menu options tried, and with plenty of fresh vegetables brought to the table.
A thoroughly enjoyable meal and experience for everyone in a good environment.

Have not been here for a meal in a few years but what a difference.  Greeted by Meg who was very welcoming and answered any questions we had; we also had a new member of staff waiting our table who was very polite and attentive but not intrusive.  The food was lovely and I thought reasonably priced.  Will definitely not leave it a few years to go back.

We stayed here for a week. It’s a brilliant place to stay, beautiful village location with railway station just a 5 min walk away, only 20 mins on train to Portsmouth Harbour. Londis shop and Chemist 2 min walk.  Plenty private parking available at back of hotel. Lovely decorated, clean rooms with everything you need. Food is excellent, and a nice relaxing bar with good selection of drinks. The staff are super friendly and make you feel really welcome. Highly recommended!

The staff were friendly and the pub was so convenient for walks for the dogs and for places to eat.  The dogs were comfortable and happy and we had everything we needed.

We had an excellent stay. Great staff and atmosphere, good food. Would definitely stay again. 10/10.

Really impressed! Staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. Room was great and had everything we needed (tea making facilities,  iron, hair dryer, toiletries etc).

Good food with great service

A great place to stay!

We stayed for two nights - room clean and comfortable.   We ate in the restaurant the first night which was nice food nice bar area too.  we then went to eat there the 2nd night also but the restaurant was closed for a private party.  It would have been nice to have been told at check in that there was a party and we wouldn't be able to eat there as the other pub serving food was fully. booked and we had to drive out to find somewhere to eat.  Only suggestion would be to have bigger cups in the room for tea/coffee.

Lovely pub hotel, looks like been refurbished recently new carpets etc. staff very friendly and helpful. Didn’t eat there in evening, but breakfast was fantastic.Couple of areas that need looking at, the mattress was probably the worst we have slept on, kept hearing the springs ping, minor thing no spoon with t and coffee in room, but easily sorted, shelf in bathroom not secure and at an angle so couldn’t use properly as things kept sliding off.

We stayed here as a 1 night get away for our wedding anniversary. The location of the Robin Hood is very quiet and tranquil opposite the green. Room was very clean and modern with a decent double bed and shower etc. The food here is top quality with a great variety along with a good selection of real ales and wines. Hospitality 10/10 also, couldn’t do enough for you. Will definitely recommend to others.

Great Overnight Stay at The Robin Hood in Rowlands Castle

Last minute booking, when everywhere seemed to be booked up. Very easy booking and instant confirmation. Always a bit of a punt when you  are short of choice but the moment we entered the village and saw the exterior,we felt we had 'hit the bullseye' Set on the village green ...great location and a warm welcome from The staff... and even the owner  took time  to say hello. Nothing was too much trouble for them! Our room was beautifully furnished and comfortable, but the jewel in the crown? ...the dining! As its located off the beaten track a bit, we dined in house and what a decision! 
Pub food is often dismissed as bland and lacking in choice, I promise you this was one of the best meals I have eaten on the road, ..informed the chef was new.. what a find and addition to the staff she is! Beautifully cooked and presented it was almost a shame to eat it!....but it just made the whole experience a real pleasure!!....if you are heading this way check it out, and if you do eat in!!..... I will return there when the chance arrives...highly recommended.....well by me anyway!!

Like it's name....hit the target spot on!

What a lovely pub. My friend and I visited today for afternoon drinks and dinner. Starting initially in the front garden which offered a sunny spot which over looked the village green. Blankets were available should there be a need.  The pub was nicely decorated throughout with lots of quirky items, particularly liked the glassware which was crystal like in design.  A relaxing sofa would have topped the decor off but that’s just my personal taste.
The pub staff and patrons were friendly and helpful so much so we stayed for dinner. The food was tasty and served in good time. Nothing flash just honest pub food which we liked.
Definitely would visit again

Lovely stay

David and his team could not have been more friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. We stayed for two nights in one of the newly decorated rooms. It was very nice and comfy. Nice touches like tea and coffee facilities, biscuits and water in your room. Breakfast was tasty with plenty of tea and coffee on offer. We didn’t eat in the restaurant during our stay but were reliably told that they serve a great selection of fresh fish and a great Sunday roast.The location is great, a couple of minute stroll to the train station with access to Gunwharf and Portsmouth. What we really liked about The Robin Hood Inn is how friendly the team who work there are. So welcoming, stopping for a chat, checking if you need anything. David and the team have created such a homely and welcoming place. We highly recommend
