We had stayed here a few years ago and  had such a wonderful  experience when we wanted a weekend away with the family  this is where we chose.
Sally and Steve are excellent hosts. The house is very tastefully decorated, the   bedroom are large, very clean and again  decorated with thought and good taste. 
There is also a good selection of tea, coffee ,  fresh milk and water provided in the rooms.
Car parking is very easy  and spacious   with no problem.
The location is very good with a short walk to Porlock and a very easy walk to Porlock Weir.
We ate in on both evenings because the food and ambience of the house is so good.
Sally and Steve provide an evening meal with a good range of choice.  
The food is exceptional and as good as or even better that a lot of top restaurants.
There is also a bar for a pre dinner drink as well as a good choice of wine.
We stayed here for a weekend with our 2 children and their partners.  It was the most perfect weekend.
So a    huge thank you to Sally and Steve for  such a perfect stay and look forward to a return visit.

Perfect in every way

This was our second stay at this lovely property. Sally and Steve are excellent hosts with a superb standard of catering. Breakfasts are plentiful with a wide choice from pancakes to full English. Evening meals are outstanding with all fresh local ingredients. Fish dishes are the best we’ve tasted.

Another excellent break at this delightful country house

Perfect place to stay! Plenty of parking onsite. Lovely attentive owners. Very very clean and up to date. Quiet location. Fresh bottled water left in room every day. Various drinks supplied I.e coffee, tea and to my surprise decaf tea! Also fresh milk supplied rather than the little pots of long life found in most places. Breakfast was included and was excellent.
We also opted to have our dinner there one night and it was superb.

Perfect Perfect Perfect

My mum & I stayed at Exmoor County House, Porlock, as we started our coast path walk. Welcomed by friendly Steve who showed us through their spotless & comfortable house to our twin room. Sally looked after us at dinner & breakfast and despite Covid measures they made us feel looked after and relaxed after a day of walking. En suite spotless; beds dreamy. Helped with bus times & taxis. Delicious breakfast/dinner. Will stay again& again.

Wonderful Stay

Wonderful stay with a warm welcome from Steve and Sally. Lovely room which was very well equipped. We decided to eat in each night and the food served by Sally was excellent, great choice from the honesty bar too. A perfect 3 night break with lots to see and do in the area.

Absolutely Perfect

I made a reservation for this hotel via Booking.com only to have my booking cancelled stating invalid card (it wasn't) but I re submitted another valid card only for this to rejected also and within the requested timescale, again booking cancelled invalid card. I messaged the property to query and received a very brief reply from Steve saying the booking was cancelled due to invalid credit card no call or offer to try again . I then contacted booking.com as I was perplexed at the issue I was having with the card and I could not re-book as there was now no availability. The feedback was the property was unable help. Today I saw the hotel was showing availability so decided to book direct to hopefully avoid any issues with card process and the booking went through fine however I have just received a call from Steve saying he has cancelled my booking because I had previously complained to booking.com and had not contacted him directly (which I had, but he was not helpful) he was therefore not going to accept my booking and to not try again, totally bizarre and very un-professional behaviour.

Very Disappointed

Steve and Sally were hugely welcoming and friendly, and the precautions that they had put in place re Covid were impressive, protecting not only thmselves but their guests.
The food, both dinnera nd breakfast, was fantastic - extra pounds all round!
Clean and comfortable room and bathroom - we were lucky to have two views from our room over the hills of Exmoor.
Good location near to Porlock, easy walk down to the marshes, not far from Dunster and Lynmouth and of course the walking on Exmoor.

Excellent visit

We were given the warmest of welcomes at this stylish, extremely comfortable B&B. Nothing is too much trouble for Steve and the food served charmingly by Sally was outstanding. 
In addition, Exmoor House is in a superb location being just a short walk from Porlock and on the edge of Exmoor. There is a lovely woodland walk down to the delightful Porlock Weir and easy access to the rolling hills.

Absolutely Fabulous 

Stayed with Steve and Sally for a couple of nights and was impressed by the warmth of their communication, welcome and attention before and during my stay.
The room was very well appointed and the bed really comfortable. Breakfast was hearty and well-cooked (loved the gin jam!), the packed lunch substantial, and dinner absolutely delicious.

Outstanding Hosts and an Excellent Stay

We stayed here for 5 nights in September. I cannot fault the place, and I am a critical person! Sally and Steve were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The room was large and well decorated . Everything we could possibly want. Even a dab radio! The food was delicious both at breakfast and evening meal.
We will definitely go back.
