We stayed here overnight. Never visited Ulverston before it’s a really lovely place. Lots of bars, pubs, coffee shops and shops. Plus the laurel and hardy museum. The house it’s self wasn’t much to look at outside and I was slightly concerned when I saw the sold sign in the garden however there was no need at all to be bothered. The owner was lovely, gave us a choice of rooms both of which were massive. I can’t fault it at all. Just a 5 minute walk into Ulverston. Quiet although it’s on a busy road we heard no noise, spotless bedroom and shared bathroom. And breakfast the next morning was brilliant. Good range of food including I noticed gluten free cereal. Thankyou so much for a peaceful stay.

Stayed here in July for the first night before starting The Cumbria Way walk.  It is a lovely place to stay, very comfortable and clean.  The owners were very, very helpful with tips and ideas for different routes and places to visit of interest.  The breakfast was great and I loved the crockery!  The bedroom was a very large and clean, as was the bathroom.  Thanks for an amazing stay in your lovely home. 

What a little gem of a place.  We had a lovely spacious room. It was the little things though.  The towels were amazing (where did you get them from?). Good quality duvet with pillows. Everywhere spotless and clean. We didn't get the ladies name but she couldn't do enough for us. She even put clothes in the dryer for us has we got caught in a downpour the night before. Breakfast was lovely. She even gave me a gift for my Birthday which was so touching.  Lovely people,thank you for making our stay a memorable one. 

My husband and I have just visited with our two children (2 and 5 years). My brother in law booked it as a gift for us and we are very pleased he did! Lots to do in the area and combined it with some visits to local attractions. 
Rock House is a wonderful traditional B&B, it was home from home. Linda and Ian were really lovely and our children were so excited that it was like being at home. We used the lounge area to chill out and had a very comfortable night in our family room. Breakfast was fabulous with lots of choice and good quality products! First time in a B&B with the kids however it has certainly reassured us to do it again!!! Highly recommend as it was just lovely!!

I have just stayed with my husband and young baby as we were visiting family in the area. This is definitely a traditional style B&B which isn’t normally my first choice however the location was perfect for us and I will definitely stay when visiting family next time. The owners were extremely accommodating and put a travel cot in the room for us. I didn’t realise we had a shared bathroom but this didn’t actually cause us any problems and was spotless. The beds were extremely comfortable and we all had a brilliant sleep! The breakfast was lovely - plenty of cereal choice, fresh fruit and yoghurt and a great full English cooked how you would like. There is a nice guest lounge which although we didn’t use it, that was purely because we already had plans to be out - we would have felt very comfortable using it. 

The owners could not have made us feel more welcome or been more accommodating- even offering use of their grandchild’s bottle steriliser and allowing us to borrow their highchair to use at dinner with our family! 


Appearances can be deceptive as this place proves.  From outside, it looks nothing special but once inside, it cannot be faulted.   Location is ideal being 5 minutes walk from the town  
We had a warm welcome from the owners and were shown to our room.  The room was spotless with coffee and a good selection of teas  and also biscuits.  They were also more than happy to provide soya milk for my partner.  
The room was not ensuite but they provided clean and comfortable gowns to walk to the bathroom which had a nice spa bath. 
Breakfast was served in a nice comfortable lounge.  It was cooked fresh and was an excellent way to start the day   other guests were very friendly and it was nice to chat with them. 
I would definitely recommend  this b and b.
