Four of us took two rooms for a weekend when visiting family nearby. Having got used to big hotels over the years I was unsure what to expect. What I found was a warm greeting, comfortable room with lots of character, excellent breakfast in the garden and overall, a personal touch that is really hard to beat. From start to finish the stay was good, with Mark and his family making you feel at home and valued. We are more than happy to stay again.

Smashing stay, everything done well

On arrival we were met by Mark the owner. A very warm and friendly reception. Then taken to our room. It is up a flight of stairs so not suitable for disabled.
The room was particularly good and spacious. It was clean and well-appointed and a needed bottle of water. There was a fan provided which was certainly needed as the weather was very hot and humid. With the added attraction of having low ceilings due to being an old building. The bathroom was large with a lovely walk-in shower
The view from the room overlooked the village green. Very typical English village with the large green and cricket played on it.
The breakfast the first morning was eaten out in the courtyard. Extremely well designed and felty like we were in the Mediterranean. The breakfast was large and started with a lovely plate of fresh fruit. Then indulged with the cooked breakfast which has two of everything. (yummy)
Second morning was taken in the restaurant. Here there is a lot of space between the tables which is good, and you would not feel like you are joining other people to eat.
We can certainly recommend this as a B&B and next time in the area will certainly use again. Well done Mark and family

Warm welcome

Very warm welcome. Lovely view across village green. Nice outside seating area. Drinks reasonably priced and good selection. Well appointed rooms with thought given to small details. Enjoyed a lovely meal - plenty of choice and nicely presented. Did not have breakfast as it is pre order and we got back to our room after the cut off time. Good location for visiting “Constable Country”.

A very lucky find!

A real gem, location perfect overlooking a huge village green.
We were greeted by Mark upon arrival and shown to our room with a cold bottle of water - a welcome sight after a 6 hour drive.
The rooms are impeccable, modern, immaculate and comfy, the bed was also lovely to sleep in. A kettle with a weighty tea tray, not like the usual 2 sachets of coffee!
We ate in the restaurant during the evening and it was AMAZING, compliments to the chef and the service was excellent too.
Nothing too much trouble!
If we were in the area again we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
P.S. i don’t often write reviews therefore the fact that i have is a sign of a superb visit.

Little gem nestled away…….superb!

Stayed 1 night after meeting family and loved the unique boutique style bedrooms. Room spotless and comfortable, great shower room, lovely decor and accessories, even a stand-up fan, bed really comfortable. Service was outstanding  and fabulous  breakfast of choice served in restaurant next morning. Hope to return at some point when next in the area. Very welcoming owners who  go out of their way to make sure you have a lovely stay. Thank you

A refreshing change from typical corporate chain hotels

I would definitely recommend restaurant 43. I stayed here with my boyfriend as part of he’s 22nd birthday present. I could not fault our stay at all, the room was perfect and the food was amazing. The family that own the restaurant are lovely and very welcoming. Would definitely stay again and come for pizza Wednesday!😍😍😍

Amazing!!!

My father and I stayed here for a few nights when we came to the village to visit my Mother's memorial bench. 

The property over looks the green and is a few minutes walk from the train station. 

  Mark and his family were wonderful hosts.  

The rooms were spacious, each with their own bathroom and shower.  

 The attached Restaurant  serves a delicious varied menu at Lunch and Dinner.   We also enjoyed a hearty breakfast each morning.  

Will definitely stay again when we are next in the village.  

Thanks Mark and family, the stay could not have been more perfect.

A visit to the village

We stayed here for one night on our way to Suffolk and it was a real find. 
Our room was excellent - clean, bright, and very comfortable with a superb bed. Shower was roomy and powerful.
We ate our evening meal in the restaurant: me the mussels, she the lamb, and both were utterly delicious. 
Spoke briefly to the owner who was friendly and enthusiastic, and during our stay all the staff were very professional, courteous and attentive. 
Would definitely return and highly recommend to anyone considering a visit here. 

Faultless

We really enjoyed staying in this place. The staff were all lovely, the room was spacious and clean, there was a reasonable choice of tea (my favourite, Twinings English Breakfast) and coffee, plus biscuits. We didn't pay the extra £8-or-so for breakfast but, judging by the evening meal we enjoyed the night before, I'm sure it would have been lovely. Highly recommended.

Spacious and exceptionally clean

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights at Rooms at 43 which is a boutique B&B. Our room was excellent and our window overlooked the green. There was plenty of room, plush bed and bedding, plus a very modern bathroom with a great shower.  Our bed was very comfortable. The family who own the restaurant and B&B's were very friendly.  A suggestion would be to maybe add a mini fridge to the room plus a box of tissues in the bathroom.
