The Rose & Crown Bridge Street

We have just returned from a two night stay at the Rose and Crown, a delightful, characterful B. and B. in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, in easy reach of  Sudbury and Lavenham. Our hostess made us feel very welcome on our arrival, (home made cookies!) our ensuite room was lovely and breakfast was excellent on both mornings. This is a delightful place to stay; we can warmly recommend it!

We were looking for a weekend away to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. We found this little gem on line.
We booked but had to reschedule. Laura was fine and most helpful and rebooked.
On arrival Laura came out to the car park to meet us and immediately showed us to our room. She showed us where everything was and where we were to go in the morning for breakfast. 
A very nice, clean and comfortable room, good size along with a large bath room. All tastefully decorated.
We have travelled half way round the world and can say this was one of the better rooms and breakfast we have had on our journeys.
Laura was most helpful with her knowledge of the area and where to eat.  Also offering to book a table if needed.
We were lucky enough to meet there two lovely daughters.
A lovely stay and a lovely family.
Beware. If using a Sat Nav, the post code will take you off the A134, up Bridge Street Road and dump you in the middle of nowhere. When you get to that junction, look across the road and you will see the Rose & Crown

I have just stayed at the Rose and Crown this weekend whilst visiting family and my husband and I could not have been made more welcome.  The room was lovely and absolutely spotless as was the en suite bathroom - and warm, especially as it has snowed!!  We had also booked breakfast which was wonderful.  What more can I say except thank you Laura and Richard.  Frances S

Stayed here as I was attending a wedding at Kentwell Hall. Woman on my own and felt very safe. It was perfect for an overnight stay.  I arrived late and was warmly welcomed and shown to my cosy room. Plenty of space and had everything I needed, warm shower, comfortable bed, to, wifi etc.  I opted for breakfast the next day. Plenty on offer and Laura was very helpful with local advice.

Stopped off from one event on the way to another the next day. Laura was so helpful when I booked. Arrived quite late but we were greeted warmly and shown to a clean, tastefully furnished, warm, comfortable room. Wish we could have stayed longer! 

Very nice, warm, clean and tidy room with ensuite bathroom tastefully decorated and  wonderful breakfast in the morning. Hotel which has it's own parking is on the edge of South Melford near Lavenham. Accommodating and friendly staff/owners. Excellent value.

One night in Lavenham

The WC in my room was soiled! The WC brush was broken. The lamp next to my bed did not work, and when I looked under the bed to see if it was not connected I found a layer of dust that was at least 3 months old, and also some litter (something that looked like a toothpaste lid). The bathroom smelled of humidity 
Worse, the lady in reception couldn’t care less of my complaint. 
I’ve been in my life in much simpler hotels all around the world, and I had never seen something of the sort. I absolutely do not recommend the place.
