Wheatley Farm

We had a lovely 3 day break at Wheatley Farm, a traditional farmhouse on a working dairy farm that has been in the family for 5 generations. We had a lovely warm welcome with scones, jam and clotted cream. The place was spotlessly clean, generous size bedroom with great shower and lovely views across the valley. Breakfast was very good with locally sourced produce. There is a lovely swimming pool with sauna and jacuzzi. Valerie is very friendly and helpful with suggestions of places to visit and places to eat evening meals. The only disadvantage is that it’s a bit far away from anywhere. But we enjoyed the peace and quiet.

We had a great week at Wheatley Farm. Found it on Booking.com but booked direct. Valerie was very welcoming. We had a delicious homemade cream tea on arrival. We stayed in Claire’s room which had a huge, comfy bed, plenty of storage, a well stocked refreshments tray and a bathroom with an amazing power shower. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was great, with plenty of choice - we had a smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, and a full English. There was also a selection of fruit, yoghurts and cereals. The farm also has a pool table, heated indoor pool and hot tub. WiFi and parking were both good.

we visited on the 5th & 6th july for the weekend. we where welcomed with a big smile and a cream tea which was a lovely gesture. the rooms are very spacious and very clean, tea and coffee in your rooms. the location was fantastic as it was just so relaxing. Valerie advised us of the local pubs and restaurants and also how to get to certain areas. couldn't wish for a better host thank you.

We stayed in the self catering cottage and was absolutely delighted with it . Firstly it was impeccably clean and spacious , 2 large ensuite bedrooms  a beatiful sun lounge , then upstairs a large open lounge with a fully working kitchen . Yes its a little off the beaten track so if you dont like peace and quiet then this is not the place for you

We enjoyed a pleasant three day stay under the care of Valerie who warmly welcomed us into her house. This lovely farm exceeded our expectations and the Bedford room was luxurious and cosy. Would recommend!! 

We booked a break away for two nights to have a little escape from work, painting art and our chaotic lives. The location on a farm was fab and peaceful with just the sounds of cows and birds. I grew up on farms so this felt like home. The room is lovely , we stayed in Claire’s Room which is a twin (quite like having a bed to myself so I was happy) and lovely decor, very Laura Ashley. There’s lots of drawers and wardrobe space and a big bathroom with a great power shower. Valerie introduced herself and her husband when - they are lovely, so friendly and helpful - especially when we got lost trying to find a pub. There is a pool jacuzzi and sauna which was heaven to me. I loved that we were able to use this as we wanted and both times had it all to ourselves. A tip - take a photo of the information about local pubs before you leave. There are directions in it that would have saved us being useless. We ate at The Old Wainhouse the first night , gorgeous hunters chicken and cheesecake dessert. Second night we ate at The wilsey inn - that was great too with best chocolate pudding i’ve had. It gets really busy so go early and book a table. Highly recommend a trip to St Nectans Glen, it’s not a long drive and is just beautiful. Breakfast at Wheatley farm is superb! Lush bacon and sausages and best scrambled eggs i’ve had. There’s also a lounge and pool table you can use. Massive Thankyou to Valerie and family for a wonderful stay, we loved it 😊
