Wow, what a fantastic pub and accommodation! 

We have just returned from an amazing weekend away and stayed in the Busfeild Arms.

The staff are all lovely, the locals very welcoming and the pub just has a brilliant atmosphere.   The food was just lovely in the evening, and breakfast was equally great with freshly cooked food and the best sausages! 

We only stayed for one night and the room was just superb, with a 4-poster bed that looks like the publicity photos.  The bedroom was massive and the carpet so thick and bouncy you could have lost a small child! - seriously, the pub and accommodation was superb. Highly recommended. 

An amazing pub and accommodation. 

We had an excellent stay in the Busfeild Arms. Donna looked after us perfectly and is a credit to the business. 

The rooms were excellent, beautifully decorated and clean. The food was top notch and we had a good night in the bar area with the locals. 

Breakfast was as good as the previous night's food. 

Would thoroughly recommend. 

Exceeded expectations.

Lovely visit 7 adults and 3 under 5’s. Pub area is so nice and we had a drink before the meal.  The restaurant dude is nice but was a bit cold and lots of things on the menu not available.  What we did order was first class and all the differing requests of the children were catered for without any fuss.  Very friendly helpful staff.  Reasonable prices.  We very much enjoyed it , even if we was a little cold.

Never disappoints

Family meal in the restaurant for a lunchtime meal. Booked via email.
On arrival was informed there were several items unavailable including specials on the board. However the menu was plentiful so we all managed to choose a nice meal. The meals did take a whole to arrive but they were worth it. The portion sizes are very generous. Steak and ale pie was a big hit as were lasagne, gammon and burgers. A few did manage a desert too and they are big enough to share!
Service was very friendly. We would have liked the fire on in the restaurant as it gets cold when the door opens and it also makes it feel more welcoming. The fire in the pub section was lit. Overall we recommend a meal here.


Family get together

Stood waiting at the bar to be served for one of the locals just to push round the back if us straight in. Barman wants sacking no customer service skills whatsoever. We was waiting a good couple of mins to be served in front of him it wasn't as if he couldn't see us.

Gone downhill

Visited with family to celebrate a birthday. Booking was efficient via email. Every person thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Portions are plentiful! Varied menu to suit tastes. Specials board also available. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend a meal in the restaurant.

Birthday celebration!

Booking.com rejected my review. I'll try here instead. My wife and I had booked a night en-route from Edinburgh to London. On the day we were due to stay (from memory 12th August) we tested positive for Covid. We decided that for the benefit of staff and customers at Busfeild Arms we would carry on home rather than stay the night, and protect others in so doing. I called to inform them of the situation and asked if we could get a voucher or refund in compensation - which I was told we would. We received nothing, not even a follow-up call. I guess some proprietors just couldn't care less when customers do the right thing, and are happy to take their money and mislead about possible compensation. Whilst I'm sure all the positive reviews about it being a lovely place are true, it's also nice if the proprietors have a bit of care and consideration when customers' circumstances are compromised, and act similarly thoughtfully.

Just do the right thing.

What a great local pub, great pub with really good food,, very cozy and welcoming.. the food was very good and very tasty,, we sat in the bar area and the fire was on, very very cozy, then the food turned up and was spot on, will be coming back very soon and will be telling my friends and family to visit this pub

Great food, beer and lovely pub

We were really looking forward to visiting the Busfeild Arms as it had been recommended by a few friends and we also knew it had a good reputation. Decided to take my elderly mother for a Sunday lunch for her birthday. What a disappointing experience it was. We had booked 1pm in the restaurant and they had us in at 2pm in the bar. We were seated straight away luckily. We ordered our food at the bar at just after 1pm and it must have been 45/50 minutes before the starters came out. We then had another long wait for our main meals. We actually had to ask where they were and were told that the kitchen were experiencing difficulties and we could have free desserts or drinks. When the meals finally came out most of it was lukewarm. Nobody wanted desserts, we didn't get the free drinks knocked off the bill and we were all fairly cold sat in the bar. All in all we spent 3 and a half hours there for a really disappointing meal. 

Birthday meal 

Picked pub as it was close to visit friends in the area.
First words from staff member were to thank us for choosing to stay there. This level of customer service continued with all staff throughout the stay and puts other hotels to shame.
We had Sunnydale  double room which has a seating area as well as sleigh bed and modern bathroom with shower. Tea/coffee and TV as well as small wardrobe and full length mirror. They have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable.
Breakfast room has three tables with breakfast items set out and in fridge unless you have pre-ordered from breakfast menu the night before. Full English was delicious.
Evening meal from a varied menu was well cooked.
My only criticism would be  that no staff member on site meant we were a little unnerved when one resident took to walking the corridor for a couple of hours in the night. It wasn’t serious enough to ring the emergency numbers available but made for a disturbed night.
We will be returning.
