Wassand Arms

Ok this isn't the prettiest of hotels, its an traditional old working man pub that has been converted and its in a pretty industrial area of Hull. Now they are the only "downsides". Once you are in the "hotel", which involves getting the door code from the owner (Sue), you are in for a rather pleasant surprise. The rooms are clean and well presented. Our room had its own lounge and bathroom. It has the feel of staying at a friends house but with much more privacy. This isn't a swanky designer hotel with gym, swimming pool & restaurant, but honestly if you just need a base to travel from for a couple of nights you will be hard pushed to get better. Sue, the owner is lovely and is always at the end of the telephone to give any assistance you need. The price is incredible, you could not get a meal in your designer hotel for what we paid for the night at this little gem. I have stayed in some pretty posh hotels and when we first turned up I was, shall we say surprised, but it was probably one of the most lovely times I have had in a hotel. Give it a go, you wont regret it!
