Cornerbrook Guest House

I booked this B and B again on short notice after deciding to take the ferry from the Hoek of Holland to Hull and was relieved they had a room available. It was my second visit and will be my stand-by when I go to do research at the Hull History Center. As usual, Richard got my bag up the stairs before I even noticed. The breakfast is especially good for vegetarians: if you notify Richard and Denise ahead of time, they will make you some tomatoes, mushrooms, and baked beans. The yogurt selection is also nice, and the full pitcher of orange juice is a rarity in English guest houses. The hosts are mellow, helpful, but unobtrusive. The house is in a nice residential neighborhood; yes, it is on a busy road, but so are most places in Hull. Listening to music when going to sleep will ease that issue, as will earplugs. It's also easy walking distance to a variety of restaurants from the cuisines of the world. Will definitely be back next year! Highly recommended for women traveling alone as well since they are very respectful and the area is safe. The fridge for my evening glass of wine is also always appreciated.
