The Lime Tree

We stayed here after getting engaged the day prior and were upgraded to the loft suite at the very top overlooking the loch! It was the most beautiful room and beautiful view! The owners wife was the nicest woman too! I had an amazing stay and look forward to coming back one day! Please stay here! You’ll fall in love too!

Comfortable beds and spacious room with a decent sized shower. Bathroom has a heated towel rack. Tea and coffee are available in the room.  Plenty of electric outlets. Location is at the edge of town and easy walking distance to shops and restaurants.

Excellent room with good facilities. Restaurant on site and food was very good. Breakfast also good with both hot and cold options with plenty of choice. Good parking on site. 15 min walk to railway station down main street. Directly opposite the water.

This is a small hotel so it feels more personable. Staff were friendly and helpful on check in. 
The room was beautiful and over looked the Loch. I think the hotel has recently been done up.
The bed was really comfortable and spacious and we had a good nights sleep. 
Breakfast in the morning was delicious and staff again were really kind and helpful.
Would definitely stay again.

Had a great stay at the Lime Tree. The team are friendly and helpful and it’s truly dog friendly - we were given a ground floor room which had a back door, giving easy access in and out for the pooch before bed which was a nice touch. The room was basic but modern and clean with the amenities you’d expect from a small hotel. We found it super quiet despite our room being next to the restaurant and near the road - so slept well. The only downside was I couldn’t figure out how to turn the heating off in the bathroom so nearly roasted to death but to be fair, I didn’t bother to ask so that’s not really anyone’s fault but mine! It’s maybe a little pricey for its class but that’s Fort William! 

I must say, food at this hotel is outstanding! We recently stayed at the 5 * Balmoral in Edinburgh and I genuinely can say the breakfast was better at Lime Tree and dinner was equally delicious. Would definitely stay again if we return to the town! :)

This is a small hotel and very charming. It feels family-run, which I don't think is the case at all. I highly recommend Room 1, which is a corner room with views of the loch and a four-poster bed. I wish I had stayed for dinner, as the breakfast was first class, with a chef preparing it from scratch right before your eyes.

Nice little hotel; friendly team & great food

Great breakfast

Short stopover,  great location with parking, very friendly staff and amazing view of the Loch.  We stayed in the Mews and generally it was good, upstairs is a nice seating area and kitchen with all essentials.  Downstairs it was cooler but ok once we turned the heat up.  There is no wifi to the Mews and we struggled with the TV but it was checked as soon as we reported it.  It has all the ingredients for a great small hotel, there was just some small things to focus on such as front door not closing properly unless locked, the wifi and other small things.

More like a 3.5 and good stop over

I would not choose this hotel to stay again on vacation. Too many problems to list. Over a couple of weeks in Scotland and staying at 5 different locations, this was the worst room and bathroom we had. Many things in need of repair. The restaurant was good and location was good.

Would not pick this hotel again

We had booked a month in advance and received an email three days out saying our reservation was canceled due to construction and remodeling delays. We were already in another country at this point and had to scramble to find other accommodations. Obviously 'unforseen' things can't be planned for, just something other travelers may want to keep in mind when booking a smaller company

Disappointed

Never had the chance to stay here. Had reservation booked for May 2023 and just 3 weeks prior to arrival, hotel cancelled our reservation due to remodeling.  Left us high and dry. Trying to find another hotel in area on such short notice is proving to be a problem. Traveling with a group. No help from Lime Tree. Travelers beware.
