Mirage World

me (18) and my brother (13) came here from Saturday 19th September to Saturday 2nd August. this was a great and fun experience and i miss the staff there lots as they were super friendly and welcoming, but i will explain all that you will probably need to know before coming here, especially if you are unsure about anything. hope this helps!!! 💗 we arrived late in the afternoon due to a long transfer from the airport as Mirage World Hotel is one of the last stops from Dalaman Airport. check-in was fast and there are staff that take your suitcases to your room and help you out with any questions you have. a safe is 3€/day and definitely worth it if you’re worried about valuables or important documentation but everyone was so lovely and the cleaning staff were so nice to us and thorough when cleaning our room (you get small bottles of shampoo and conditioner and a vanity set which has cotton buds, cotton pads and a shower cap). we stayed in hotel block C, in room 3519 with a lovely view of the pool and a balcony which i could watch the morning sunrise from. ‼️ - we joined in the entertainment activities which were from 10:30-12:30 then 14:30-16:30 ish, from day-to-day it varied but it was around the same thing. my brother and i would start off our day with darts at 11:00 with Yasin or meow guy, then join in the aqua gym at 11:30 with Selda. the pool game at 12:00 is actually the inflatable they set up and two people go at a time to try and jump off the other side, be careful as the floor gets hot so make sure to wear flip flops and the queue gets long. then the entertainment staff have their break from 12:30-14:30 a good time to have food and drinks at the snack bar (choices of salad, burgers, pizza, chips, chicken nuggets or chicken wraps) or my brother and i, we walked around İçmeler and went to some markets and stalls. then we returned in the afternoon for the ziggy dance led by meow guy and selda at 14:30 and then water polo at 15:00. the water polo games are normally at least 30 minutes and one of the entertainers, Yasin, who played professionally for 7 years will join in too and even out the abilities between the two teams, children who want to join will have to be around 12-16+ as the game can get quite violent and aggressive and you will need to know how to swim. but don’t worry if you feel like you’ll miss out as there will be a kids game afterwards which is more relaxed and chill. there is darts again at 15:30-16:00 which we always go to. ‼️- in the evening there is the mini disco at 20:30 and then cash bingo at 21:00 which one bingo sheet is 250₺/5£, then there is always an evening show at around 21:30-22:00 from Turkish night, best couples, karaoke night, king or queen of mirage world and even a white & foam party. i recommend that you get seats at around 20:00 latest otherwise you’ll have a bad view of the stage or you’ll have to stand. guys Turkish night is amazing, the vibes are immaculate and they have sparklers and flares and play the traditional songs, i loved the way we can see your guys’ culture and we joined along in the dancing and singing! ‼️- now some key things to know that will help you massively and make sure you don’t stress. firstly, white towels from the hotel room are not allowed on the sunbeds or out of the hotel room, you have to rent orange towels which you get a blue card per towel you need, make sure to return this card as there is a 20€ fine otherwise. also sunbeds get taken very quickly and you’re not allowed to bagsy sunbeds the night before as we saw it happen and they collected everyone’s towels and left them in a pile next to the photo booth. so i recommend waking up at 5:30-6:00am to put your towels on the sunbeds then head to breakfast at 7am. normally i would wake up at 4am to enjoy the sunrise and the peacefulness of the morning and the sunbeds are very comfortable if you want to take a nap. now with meal times, the inside of the restaurant is air conditioned but outside has its own breeze, personal preference as to where you eat your meals. but with dinner at 19:00-21:00, there is a queue as everyone wants to be inside, so i recommend you leave your hotel room about 10 minutes before and queue until they open the doors at 19:00, or you can wait until about 20:00 and onwards when it’s all settled down. ‼️- if you’re not wanting to stay in the hotel during the day and want to visit Marmaris, you can get there by the Orange dolmuş which costs 40₺ per person, regardless of age, and you just wave down a dolmuş in the direction you’re wanting to go. then tell the minibus driver stop or if you speak a bit of Turkish you can say “müsait bit yerde” or “inecek var” and “teşekkürler” for thank you when you get to where you want to go. we went with TUI so book any experiences through the app like dalaman river rafting or the jeep safari! ‼️- also it’s very easy to make friends, just join in ball games at the pool or talk to people, don’t be shy or feel worried about anything. my brother and i we made friends with the entertainment team as we were always there in the daily activities but we also made some other friends from England, some from Russia and some from Turkey, all the staff are very caring and friendly and we will miss this place lots! some reviews i have seen are bad and criticise the place and refer to the sunbeds or the rudeness of people or staff, but i primarily think its the guests who are here and the fact that a lot of the staff aren’t fluent in English and they’re just doing their jobs, so be patient, have a good time and enjoy yourself!!! but also make sure you keep an open mind as the main activity pool is where lots of kids go to play ball games, and frequently i saw younger children around 8-12 getting yelled at by parents or guests sunbathing just because a ball had gone their way. i’m not saying the kids should be allowed to throw the volleyballs or water polo balls, but at the end of the day they are just children, they didn’t purposefully do something to hurt or irritate you, and everyone is here to relax and have a great holiday. anyways, thank you so much Mirage World Hotel for such an unforgettable experience of our first time in Türkiye, thank you to the staff for being so attentive, thank you so much to the entertainment team, specifically Yasin who made sure to make everyday fun for me and my brother and helping us out when we had any questions!!
