On our round trip through Sweden we spent one night in the hostel. We had booked a two-bedroom without breakfast. The reception was very friendly and check-in and payment were done quickly. The room was large enough and had a sink. The beds are also very comfortable. The kitchen of the hostel is very well equipped and it can be cooked very well. The outdoor area of the hostel invites you to eat in good weather. The whole premises are very clean. The hostel is located outside of the house. For us the location was no problem, as we were definitely driving and only on the way. All in all, it is a super hostel and recommended.

Top hostel in a quiet location

We loved the location - in a quiet suburbs, with big garden. The lake is just a short walk away, so we went for a swim a few times. The city center is some 3 km away, but it took as just 5 minutes by car (there are 2 or 3 possible ways). Receptionist was wery atentive and informative. Our room was spacious, surprisingly cold in a hot summer, and nice equiped in IKEA style. There is a sink in the room and bathroom just a few steps away. We loved well equiped kittchen. It was also nice furnitured and there is a TV in the eating room. Wi-fi was free of charge and worked perfectly. There are also free parkiong spaces infront of the hostel buildings. The breakfast is optional (80 SEK), and there are bicycles for rent (cca 165 SEK per day) - got option for the lake shore and city center, even the cooper mines.

Quiet location  near lake

We have been there several times in different years, for periods between 3-7 days. It is quite some distance outside of town: we always have been there to be near of the lake but not close to the town. Nice place to practice outdoor activities. Staff is really helpful and nice.

 Clean place. Comfortable and large rooms with a sink but no a toilet (this is the unique inconvenient we find). After beeing there several times, the number of toilet Facilities has never been a problem.

There is a supermarket within a fifteen-minute walk. The well-equipped kitchen may be a little crowd at some moments, but most of the time you will be alone. You can cook your own food and there is a large dining room at your disposal.

Slept one night in this hostel and as the other reviewers have said it is quite some distance outside of town, bit since we were only staying one night and came by car it was no problem. The communal areas were clean and the room filled it's fuction. 

Clean and practical 

It's a great hostel with spacious rooms and a super-equipped kitchen, and we'd like to stay overnight anytime.

Hostel almost in hotel quality

Stayed here 3 nights with friends while at a local festival.  The hostel itself is about an hours walk from the centre of Falun so don't expect amenities on your doorstep. 

The room was comfortable and spacious with a sink but no other facilities.  There were toilets and a single shower at the end of the hall. I don't know whether we were just lucky but despite the large number of rooms the limited shower and toilet facilities were never an issue. 

We had their breakfast on the first day but walked the 15 minutes to the supermarket for later days as the breakfast was uninspiring. 

Basic but clean and comfortable

Nice, cozy, small (not far from minus) hotel. It's near the lake (I think, to the lake itself, not more than 100 meters). The staff is friendly and responsive, will tell you where and how....

Nice place near the lake outside of the centre. The receptionist is really helpful and nice. 
Rooms are clean and large enough. The kitchen is well equiped.

Good reception

A large and clean dining room like almost everything in Sweden, a small but manageable kitchen, comfortable and personal friendly living room; we ordered an electric heater because it was a fresh room and that was September!, the shower was very good. As in others Vandrejhem needs more information about accommodation, schedules, use of showers, kitchen, etc. If they would be grateful they would have a longer schedule to register at the entrance.

We spent 2 nights in this unusual youth hostel for French people since it is an old prison...... so small room in an old cell, collective showers, common kitchen...... community life. It is a good compromise between the hotels (fairly expensive) and the guest rooms (fairly rare)..... the rooms were clean, the friendly reception and the pleasant atmosphere..... Located quite close to the center of Falun, we were able to make the tours, mainly the copper mine and the 3 other old cities, some of which are quite interesting but none of which are interesting to visit.
