9 reviewsA nice and cozy place. A four bedroom house on top of idalgashinna mountain with a splendorous surrounding view. Host lady (Jeewa Aunty) is very good and food was tasty. Do not expect a star class hotel facilities and food varieties. You can tell your food preferences and meals are prepared cleanly and tastily. If you travel by train, the lodge is just 3 minutes walk from the Railway Station. If you drive a vehicle with low ground clearance, recommend to take "Halatuthenna-Idalgashinna" route which is about 7 km from Main Road A4. Out of this 7 km, 2 kms are yet to be paved. But, that section is navigable by a car with cautious driving. There is another road via Haputale, Glenore Estate and Beauvais Estate. In that road, the last 2-3 kms, is heavily depleted and very rocky. Unless you have a vehicle with high ground clearance, do not use that road. Optionally, you can park your vehicle in near-by town (Haputale, Diyatalawa, Bandarawela, Nuwara-Eliya) and can travel by Train to Idalgashinna. (There are about 4-5 trains during day time to each direction)
