Nice place to stop for a night or two

Bed wasn't the comfiest but great location and food nearby as well as flying ravan / little Adams peak etc 

Highly recommend for backpackers 
Breakfast was cooked well and staff were lovely too

Perfect place for lunch/ dinner.. totally loved it and honestly I ate a lot of curry on my journey around sri lanka but this one was the BEST one so far… owner is so nice and helpfull.. 100% recommending this restaurant .. it’s a must visit when coming to tissamaharama …

The best curry in Sri lanka

Shan was absolutely incredible. So welcoming, helpful and made our visit so comfortable. The location of this place is perfect; it is literally ON the path to hike up to Little Adam’s Peak or the Nine Arches Bridge. It is close to a very touristy area, which is perfect for finding nice places to eat, drink and relax. If we ever come back to Ella we will definitely book here. The views are second to none, of gorgeous mountains. Shan was also so accommodating, as we had a train to catch at 6am and he ensured we had a breakfast and coffee ready to go. I really recommend this place for your Ella trip.

Incredible Stay

We stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful stay here. The photos really don’t do the room justice, it’s much more modern and inviting than the photos. Staff were amazing, breakfast to your balcony at a time of your choosing is fab, we loved just chilling with our coffee on the balcony in the mornings. The bean bags are brilliant! The location is excellent, right at the path for little Adam’s peak/zipline/pool club/path to nine arch bridge. There’s a few cafes and restaurants on the door step or you can walk 15 minutes or get a tuk tuk to the main road where there is an abundance of places to eat. Good WiFi, good cocktails, lovely and clean place and staff helped arrange our onward travel to Yala. Thank you for a brilliant stay!

Amazing stay, amazing staff, can’t recommend enough!

I can't find anything to complain about regarding this hotel. The rooms were large and spacious and the washroom clean. It took around 10 minutes to walk to the town, which was quite manageable. Plus, the hotel's proximity to Mini Adam's Peak and the Nine Arches Bridge made it a perfect starting point for enjoyable hikes. The breakfast served here was quite satisfying.
But the highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the breathtaking view from our room's patio. I must commend the staff for their exceptional service and assistance in arranging transportation to Nildiya-pokuna. Thank you, guys!


Great view and awesome staff

It was a great place to stay. Very clean and comfortable. The location was very convenient as it was very close to both the town and little Adam's peak. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Great stay

Everything about our stay here was amazing. The rooms were spacious with an amazing view. Especially loved the outside area with beanbags, hammock and a table where we had breakfast bought to us every morning. Great location next to the trail to Little Adams Peak and Nine Arch Bridge. Staff were very friendly and always on hand to help

Can’t fault it

We stayed 3 nights here and didn’t want to leave.  The room was huge, and the service was terrific.  Breakfast was delivered to our patio every morning.  We also chilled out on the comfy beanbag chairs in the evenings while sipping mojitos that were brought to us from their bar/restaurant.  The location is good - about a 15 minute walk to the busy town area.  Also, you are very close to the Little Adams Peak trail, ziplining, and the 9 Arch Bridge trail.  The only negative is that it can be a bit noisy as it sits on a corner and gets lots of traffic.  Also note that there is no safe in the room.  Would be nice if they would add that.  Overall a terrific stay.  We would 100% stay again.

Great experience!

We spent two nights in the Chillout Ella during our trip in Sri Lanka. We really would recommend this hotel! The rooms are very clean, nice and really modern. You have a great view from the balcony and it‘s really charming there. The breakfast was really good and the staff was very friendly!!

Best Hotel in Sri Lanka

The Chill Out is in an ideal location. Slightly away from the hustle and bustle of  the busy main roads and offering breathtakingly beautiful mountain views. 

Apparently it was recently renovated and has only 4 rooms. Two very spacious and stylish family rooms downstairs and two slightly smaller rooms upstairs. The rooms are very clean, with nice attached bathrooms and enormous picture windows. It’s lovely to sit on the balcony and watch the sun rise or set.

Breakfast is served on the balcony outside the room and it’s very tasty. We had a choice of eggs or coconut pancakes, toast and a fruit plate. 
The owner is very charming and helpful, so I can definitely recommend this little bed and breakfast.
