Great little boutique hotel run by family 
Beautiful gardens and very warm hospitality 
Few mosquitoes but the staff were very helpful and put the mosquito coils which worked like a treat
The breakfast selection was huge with a mix of Sri Lankan and western and delicious 
Nice pool to chill in 
Saw few different birds monitor lizards squirrels and purple face Langur monkeys in the hotel gardens- living harmoniously with nature

Truly a nice place to stay in Unawatuna area!
We had booked this accommodation through Hotels.com however when we arrived there was no reservation from us. The host said that they do not have an agreement with Hotels.com. Luckily there was a room available for us and we had a great stay! The place is located in a quite are away from the busy Unwatuna. We went surfing at Dewata beach which is located a quick TukTuk ride from the Villa. 
The food served was excellent and we had dinner at the Villa all three nights. One of the nights the hosts came with large prawns during breakfast that we could order for dinner and at night we had the best meal! A very kid friendly place with lots of indoor and outdoor space. The rooms were clean and spacious.

Lovely, peaceful surroundings, enjoy wildlife- we saw monkeys, birds, an iguana and squirrels, in the lovely gardens. Rooms were spacious, clean and cool. We had dinner and breakfast on site and both were plentiful and yummy. The pool was lovely for a relaxing swim. Highly recommend.

Gamini and his family created a very nice place to spend some days or longer in a quiet area outside of the touristic center of Unawatuna. Different kind of rooms, we had one of the smaller ones which was even big and also very clean and comfortable, with big bathroom. The big terrasse under a roof offers a sitting area, even on rainy days. Large beautyful garden with hammocks underneath the palmtrees and a clean pool. Wounderful nature around, sometimes you can watch monkeys in the trees, at sunsettime flying foxes can be seen in the sky.  Big breakfast with coffee/tee, various kind of bread, rotis, pancake, eggs and fruits. Dinner can be ordered additionally. Tuk Tuk service to the beach road is included.
Mr. Gamini is a very humorous communicative and helpful men.

Stayed here with my girlfriend and my brother.
2 Double rooms in the new building, the place is amazing! really nice rooms. It´s a bit of walk so I would say you need your own bike to stay here. We travel a lot every year for 4-6 months.

Breakfast was nice and the owner super friendly! we where riding our tuktuk there and they had parking and gate.  The owner "father" of the family was super friendly! and got a really nice attitude! 
His daughter and husband are super friendly as well, they even gave us free ice creams. 

We will be back

This is one of the best places we stayed at in Sri lanka, riding around in our own tuktuk.

Will be back next time we visit! :)

We’ve been traveling in Sri Lanka for the past month and no accommodation is comparable to the experience we’ve had at Villa Gaetano. As soon as we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Melani and Chrishan. We were offered cold towels, a drink and a snack. Such a great welcome! 

The room is big, well maintained and fully stocked (towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, coffee, tea, water bottles, etc.). It is also sparkling clean! The AC works perfectly and there’s hot water running all the time. They also clean the rooms and restock regularly which is an added bonus! 

The breakfasts are big, delicious and varied. We also order lunch one day and it was some of the best food we’ve had in Sri Lanka! We highly recommend you grab lunch or dinner there at least once. 

They offer one free tuk tuk ride a ride to Unawatuna Beach ... another example of how their customer service is on top of their game. They’re always enquiring to know if we need something or how they can make our stay more pleasurable. 

The Villa is located about 5 minutes off the main road which is perfect for quiet nights. 

As for the pool, it’s a great addition. 

All in all, it’s a great experience staying at Villa Gaetano. If you’re in Unawatuna, this is definitely the place to stay. 

Chrishan, Melani and her father go above and beyond to make sure all our needs are met. They are a great family and we can’t thank them enough. 



Currently staying in Villa Gaetano this place is amazing..  Situated a short distance inland the location is perfect.. The family offer a complimentary tuk tuk service to Unawatuna and it is only 300 rps to get back.. The family who own the villa are lovely people and cannot help with your needs enough.. Food is delicious ( they even let my wife watch as part of a cooking demo) and delivered to your table outside your room.. I asked for a Scooter so we could get around.. They organised it.. In fact nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the deluxe room option and it was ideal.. Please if you are looking to enhance your Sri Lankan experience give this place a visit you will not be disappointed.. We were only staying for 2 nights originally but extended as we are
 enjoying it so much.. Well done to the
 owners if I could give it more than 5 stars

This is a lovely hotel hidden away in unawatuna. It is about 10 minute drive to the beach. The hotel provides one free tuc tuc ride a day to the beach which is really handy. The hotel has everything you need, rooms are basic but such good value for money. Hot shower, kettle, sitting area, good air con, fan, pool. The staff cannot do enough for you. Food is really good all cooked fresh to order. The grounds are so chilled out and peaceful. They have 3 dogs which are really cute and friendly. Would 100% recommend amazing value for money. 

The most precious thing in Gaetano Villa is the people. Cristian and his family are ready to do absolutely everything for your comfort and good mood. They are so kind, polite, hospitable and smiling people! When they got known about my birthday, they did the cake and congratulated me together with the whole family. This was so cute!
The accommodation itself is very clean with everything you may need. The breakfasts are huge and different every day. The garden is beautiful with many trees, flowers and animals. The pool is also good. 
Highly recommended for everyone!

This property spans vast grounds of beautiful palm trees, fruit trees and a beautiful swimming pool. You have to visit to see the grounds that are so well maintained it is like being a private retreat. The lodging is run by a delightful family that are incredibly hospitable and will do everything they can to ensure you have a comfortable stay. They arrange a complimentary tuk tuk to the beach each day which only takes a few minutes. They help arrange tours, massages and cook phenomenal meals. The rooms have a new feel to them and are spotless - very clean and spacious! We extended our stay due to the beauty of this place!

Truly a nice place to stay in Unawatuna area!

Perfect place to relax

Villa Gaetano is a villa with 11 rooms and spread over an expansive land. It's well maintained but what scores over everything else is the family that manages this - Gamini, his daughter Melani and her husband Chrishan, along with their cute tiny kids - Joshua and Heavenly!  
There comes a time when it's not about a property anymore - it's about the hospitality & warmth that one receives. Gamini and his family are not just an example but epitome of hospitality. 
The food we got served was excellent. We tasted authentic Lankan cuisine and on many occasions chatted with Gamini while having our food. It enriched us! 
We went as 3 families from India and came out learning so much about Lankan culture and way of life!            
Rooms are large & well appointed. 
Carry your own water to drink (maybe pick up a 5 liter keg from any supermarket) since almost every property that we stayed in Lanka for some reason was always short on water.
