First of all, when the gentleman showed us the room, there was a strong smell of locked up stuffed the room. Which didn't stop the pillows from getting soaked with this smell. Spiders from everywhere, and by the time we went to bed, the sheets were dirty and torn. The bathroom trash can with garbage hadn't been changed either and the shower had no pressure with dirty laundry. The meal was basic and not bad and the only positive point was that the room contained mosquito nets. I would recommend this hotel, even if the proximity to Adam's Peak is a plus.

It was all dirty.

COVID crisis may be (lack of maintenance!) the only hotel where we were clearly disappointed on our trip. Lack of professionalism, unclean, old man. Fortunately we went there just to sleep a few hours before the ascent.

It's not well maintained.

The hotel was a bit more expensive than its competitors, but I didn't regret it. The room and the sheets were clean, the staff with little care (it's true that I was the only customer), the right food and I had hot water in the bathroom (nice for the shower back at the Adam's Peak). What really pleased me was the stunning view of the Peak, with the meals served on a terrace from which you have the best view. The hotel is very well situated for the ascent. I left at 2am and up there at 5:25. We were about thirty at the top (person during the ascent). It was in October 2019 and I had a great time.

The view is amazing

We stayed in this hotel for half a night with the aim of climbing the steps of Adam's Peak around 2am. The hotel is close to the starting point. The staff of this hotel is very pleasant and helpful. Smiling and caring to welcome us. Dinner and breakfast are pleasant and good. The rooms are spacious, terrace with views of Adam's Peak. The bathroom is very simple, the cleanliness of the room is not perfect but remains acceptable. Good compromise.

Practical to achieve the peak of Adam

Very close to this challenging climb. The location is only 10:mins from the start. We The hotel was very basic but clean. We had a very spacious room with a view to Adams peak itself. Stunning. The price was reasonable for what you got. Only had breakfast there in which the staff waited til we climbed down and showered other than that we really didn’t have much interaction with the staff. One night was enough

Good location. Simple needs met

I had a bad feeling about this hotel from the TripAdvisor reviews, but in the end the hotel wasn't too bad. The rooms were huge and clean. The bathroom was very rudimentary. The service was very good, the staff was very attentive. The kitchen was generous.

Pleasantly surprised

We spent a night at The White Elephant, a good place to stay for a night, clean and spacious rooms, delicious food, friendly staff and guided tours, just off the road.

Climbing the Adams Peak

The staff at this hotel was amazing. Whether it was the receptionist, the cook, the housewives, they were at the top, always there to help us. The hotel arranged for us a guide to Adam's Peak, the latter was a kind and caring man. The room, on the other hand, had a strange smell. The room and bathroom were clean (maybe just the curtains in the bathroom were a little dirty). The hotel is very close to Adam's Peak.

It's a good memory.

Stayed 1 night before tackling Sri Pada. The rooms are basic, spacious and clean. Manager and staff very obliging. We had authentic meals - very enjoyable. I would recommend as a base for your walking.

As I was climing on my own, a local guide was arranged for me called YogaRaj. Yoga was very kind and patient. Sri Pada is tough, the steps are relentless. It was off-season so temple closed. I was glad it was off-season as there were still a number of visitors and the viewing space at the top is cramped. Even though cloudy and misty I saw the sun rise quickly when the clouds briefly broke. Walkers should take out with their rubbish, such a shame to see plastic strewn everwhere. Note also there are a couple of blessing "booths" where you are asked to make a donation.

Comfortable stay

Basic hotel with extremely nice staff, very good tea, impeccable srilankan dinner, very good breakfast with srilankan and european mix of foods. We had a very good talk with the owner as well. Indeed there is a lot of humidity and the shower is not like at home, but that was compensated by the hospitality! I would recommend this hotel for people who want to climb Adam's peak.
