 Very good price for a simple, clean and nice situated Guesthouse. Lovely Food in a cute garden and such a welcoming family 🙏🏼 offers TukTuk transfers and tours and has good information for organising trips. Near by temple and in good walking distance to get some stuff. We stayed two nights and felt very homy! Thx

This guesthouse is owned by a very lovely family. The rooms are clean and the atmosphere is friendly and caring. We loved the food and Krishans services as driver and tour guide. A very nice place. We'll come back! :) 

We stayed at Sandra homestay and enjoyed our friendly hosts and their cooking for one night. The simple rooms were very clean and equipped with a fan and good mosquito nets.
Krishan turned out to be not only a knowledgeable tour guide of the area but a very caring and likeable person. His English skills made communication very easy for us. Even though we moved to another homestay we kept Krishan as our guide and made a very interesting visit to Ritigala.

I stayed here for 2 nights with 4 friends and I can honestly say it was amazing. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are SO accomodating. Mohammed was so nice and made our stay excellent as he drove us to Sigiriya at 5am! I would 1000% recommend staying here. They have a pool bar too! 

We stayed for two nights at Sandra Guesthouse and it was by far the most authentic stay we had in Sri Lanka. The rooms are cozy, clean and offer everything you need. I loved their breakfast and would highly recommend trying their curry too–one of the best curries I had during our trip. Moreover, Krishan was driving us around in his tuk-tuk during our stay. He gave us a lot of interesting background info and some good recommendations for additional places to visit. Thank you!

Sandra’s Guest house was recommended to us by a friend we met in Sri Lanka during our trip in September 2018. The rooms are quite basic, there is for example no air condition, but there is a fan, hot water and a mosquito net, and the rooms and sheets are clean. Free wifi is also provided. Above all, however, the family who  run the the b’n’b are superfriendly and helpful. Whatever they cook for themselves they offer to cook for the guests as well, and it is absolutely delicious, some of the best Sri Lankan food we had during our trip! And all this at unbeatable prices! We can absolutely recommend Sandra’s Guesthouse to any travellers who like simple but authentic accommodations.

We're still totally over the moon regarding our stay at Sandra Guesthouse. During our 3 week journey through Sri Lanka this has been by far the best stay we had. Krishan, his mother Kumari and his uncle Sarath were the most amazing hosts ever! They have been super friendly, warm hearted, funny and helpful. The trips with Sarath and his tuk tuk to Sigiriya, Pidurangala Rock and Polonnaruwa were super nice and we had a lot of fun. He even managed to show us some wild elephants, just crossing the road in front of our tuk tuk! That was just amazing! Another highlight of our stay here was the food!! Kumari prepared by far the best food we had in Sri Lanka (and we've eaten at many different places during our journey). It almost felt like we were part of the family while we lived there - we just loved it and it felt really good. The rooms are not luxurious, but you will find everything you need and you will feel very welcome. In addition, the rooms have been extremely clean! Cleaner than in many other accommodations for which we have paid significantly more money. We just loved being here and are more than grateful to have met these wonderful people.

We stayed a Sandra Guesthouse for a total of four nights right after we had arrived in Sri Lanka. What a pleasure to stay here! Kristian, who owns the place together with his brother and his wife Sandra did everything they could to make our stay here pleasant. Where should we start? Perhaps food is a good start! Sandra is a perfect cook and the dinner we had at our first night was just fantastic! Also Sri Lankan breakfast was a treat every day. Unfortunately she had to leave to stay with her family in Colombo over Christmas, so we ended up being taken care of by Kristian and his brother. Which too, was a very positive experience, but after first night’s culinary treats from Sandra, we missed her a lot!

The guesthouse itself is quite simple (don’t be offset by the looks from the street), but very clean and you feel everything is taken care of with a lot of personal attention. We had a hot shower in our room, while the room of our daughters next to ours did not. Not a big deal and that may change, as the owners seem to be constantly investing in improvements whenever there are funds available. The rooms are simple with just a comfortable double bed, fan and a mosquito net. So don’t expect any luxury and to simply put your backpack on the tiled floor. But that’s more than offset by the hospitality and the quality of the food!

Kristian is also a very good and knowledgeable guide who drove us around in his tuktuk during our entire stay. So there was no need to book tours from any operator. His price is more than fair and he even took us to Polonnaruwa for a day-trip, which is quite a distance to go, but easily doable in his tuktuk.

Also he recommended to climb Piturangala rock instead of Sigiriya rock for a spectacular sunrise experience. We’re so glad we followed his advice to get up at 4AM and drive there with him in his tuktuk! 

Be aware, though, of the Ayurveda massage he may recommend you. Looking back , it seemed to be quite overpriced compared to the other massages we had during our trip, even given the commission he will probably take (which in itself is OK).

Very nice and honest family. The location is great and they are always ready to help. They organised all the tours for us and we really enjoyed. Good food and generous rooms for a cheap price. Great hospitality
