We got the apartment on top of the small reception room, which turned out to be the only one of the 18 apartments of Vila Plaja Azur to feature a balcony. The balcony is seaside, which means waking up with the sunset shining on your bed if you don't close the shaded. DON'T CLOSE THE SHADES! It's really amazing to wake up like this!

The apartment:
It's spacious with two rooms and a bathroom. Each room has an AC and a small TV --- both ACs use the same remote, however. We never used the TVs.
The main bedroom has a Queen-sized Bed and a fridge but not closets. However, there is enough space even for large suit cases on the floor as well as a bit of space next to the TV and fridge.
The other room is the apartment's hub with the entry doors and those to bathroom and main bedroom, has a two person sofa bed and a tall closet as well as a work table.
The bathroom has a proper shower (i.e. plastic door), more on that later.

Pros:
- much space
- parking next to the house
- restaurant is good with a Pizza at around 20 Lei (roughly 5 EUR)

Cons:
- the beach right in front of the houses has loud music (electronic and hectic electronic versions of somewhat known pop songs). This is found on many beaches in Romania and is absolutely horrible for relaxing.
- used towels in the bathroom on arrival, but otherwise everything was clean and OK.
- the shower leaks... A LOT! We had half the bathroom and small parts of the central room flooded after a decent shower. This was REALLY annoying and was not fixable by us as the water came from under the shower and apparently leaked from the water escape pipe.
- the two ACs are separate units but both did not work properly when set to 24°C for some reason. Using 25°C was a bit too hot for us and 23°C felt MUCH lower, like below 20°C. Also, the two ACs think differently about what 25°C means. After using this setting for several hours, one room was much colder than the other.
- the fridge has a freezer compartment, which was unusable as it was completely frozen over.
- the sofa bed had broken laths, resulting in a hole in approx one quarter of the bed as the mattress had no support there. We had children in this bed, so it was somewhat OK. As an adult, I surely couldn't have slept in it.
- Rather loud road noise in the sofa bed-room.

Final comments:
- a beach strip without music is 200m to the right when facing the sea. It was not very crowded while we were there.
- the sea gets deep quickly here, which does not allow small children to play there without risk, especially given the strong currents of sea even close to the beach.

Very nice sea view

Apartment was very nice but several details not

We received the apartment above the reception, which was nice and spacious for the 3 of us, however the bathroom was small and the shower leaked every time it was used. The water came from under the shower , and when we informed reception we were told they already knew about it. Their solution was to wrap the bottom in a towel. It made things better but still was pretty annoying and messy. The towels did not get replaced....just folded, and the smaller towels went missing. The room by the street ( with the sofa bed) is really noisy at night. Also the sofa bed is horrible to sleep on , as the coils dig in your ribs. The curtains no not block the headlights of passing cars very well.
Reception is supposed to be open 24/7 as per their website. It is not. Breakfast was included and the restaurant was nice and a gorgeous view. Buffet is very basic, coffee was not included. We ate later at this restaurant during the day, and although the food was wonderful ..... it took quite a while to get to us, and 2 other tables that came after us received their food first.
The room features a balcony from which you can watch the gorgeous sunrise. However watch out at night .... the balcony has about 5 giant friendly neighborhood spiders crawling about. The room was clean other then that. 
I beleive that this hotel is average and has a lot more potential to be better as the staff is nice and helpful when requested. With a few fixings it has a better chance of sticking out of the normal 3 stars hotels that eforie nord has to offer.

Leaky Shower in Apartment about Reception

Booked in advance. When arrived rooms had not been opened in months.
Damp strong smell to such extent could not stay here. Staff were ok about it and cancelled my booking through booking.com
Very disappointing as they knew we were coming. Its a good location right on the beach. BUT. need a car to go into town to eat elsewhere.
In 20 plus years stravel it only one place we could not stay.
Hope rooms are better in the future.
