1930 City Lodge

We booked a 4-night stay at 1930 City Lodge for our family through booking.com when my wife attended a conference last month. It was a fantastic find for us! The lodge has three floors: the main floor for dining, watching TV, and a patio (that we used during breakfast). The second floor has 4 rooms one can individually book, and the third floor is the attic (converted to the "loft bedroom"). We stayed at the latter and it had a queen bed and 2 bunk beds (to the delight of our daughters). There was also a kitchenette with 2 burners, a small refrigerator, and a sink in addition to the toilet/bath. The loft was spacious and accommodated all four of us with our luggage generously. The whole lodge is clean, well-renovated and modern. Breakfast was simple but ample with freshly baked goods, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed juice, and brewed coffee. One can catch the bus outside the lodge to go to nearby shopping centers (Parque Nascente or Dolce Vita) or to connect with the metro to the center of Porto. Wifi in the lodge was good, and their cable TV subscription included several English-speaking stations. All the rooms have AC units. The owner and staff were very courteous, accommodating, friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out were efficient and prompt, and billing was accurate. Although it is a small business, the lodge accepts international credit cards. The owner assisted us in booking a taxi service to pick us up at 4:30 AM for our early morning flight. Will we stay at the 1930 City Lodge again on our next visit to Porto. Absolutely! This is a small lodge that could!
