From our point of view, the hotel needs a renovation, it's in the center opposite the cathedral and that's the best it has. It has a small kitchen on the top floor. The street is noisy, too many cars pass by and the day we arrived there was a party in the square next door, so we decided to go.

We left before going to bed...

We spent two days in my companion's home village. The reception is extremely friendly. Room 3 is large with a balcony overlooking the central square and the roof of the DA SE Cathedral. We took the bus from Porto Campo Station 24 agosto 14.40 euros/p. About 3 hours to Guarda. The season in Guarda starts on 1 June. A very functional kitchen in the 3rd with everything you need to cook. The price is 35 euros a night. The bathroom is lit by daylight. The shower is really nice but everything is clean. We recommend without any problems. Good quality/price ratio.

Great location and very welcoming.

The low prices should be an indicator that this ain't the Ritz.  It is an old building now a "guesthouse".  It is right on the main square, across from the cathedral, convenient to the downtown.

Don't depend on your Google Maps to find the place.  The app output didn't (in my case) square with the actual location.  However, it is well marked.  The entry is on the side.

The owner is a fine guy, very hospitable.  He made us feel welcome, and helped point out some nearby features, such as coffee house and restaurants.

Rooms were like something at Hogwarts, with plenty of character.  Beds were comfortable.  Place was clean.  The tiny shower enclosures made taking one an adventure.  Easy to knock the temp control and get a quick HOT or COLD shock.

The bar crowd down below were incredibly noisy - particularly the football louts with leather lungs.  This kept up until very early morning.  Later we ran into these idiots on the square, still shouting and being loutish.  

For an overnight it was just fine.  Very convenient.  Would I spend any extended time there?  Ummm, probably not.

To be Avoided

The owner is very nice (doesn't live in the establishment, take rdv for arrival time). This guest house is very well located: on the square, opposite the cathedral... the main asset. There was hard work so it was difficult to be able to park except at the shopping centre 5 minutes walk (16,20 €). No elevator... No lunch but pastry shop / coffee in front. Very short room and old (but) clean equipment: no TV, under the door Correct, the strict minimum, no headlamp, bed small enough for 1 night but not only, to my taste 1 extended stay for 27 (pay in kind) can not be ordered one day....

Just for one night

This boarding house is located in the historic center of Guarda, super position with rooms overlooking the cathedral! But precisely because of this location there were no nightly skirmishes due to the surrounding premises. The room is small, essential and clean, impractical but the bed is really super uncomfortable.

Many pros and cons

Guesthouse Se is the best place you can find in Guarda Portugal. 
The place is a cozy hotel in the heart of historic centre. From the window's room you have a magestic view from the Cathedral.
The staff is very helpful and friendly.
Most of the rooms are en suite, they are very spacious and clean. 
There is a share tidy kitchen if you want to cook or just warm up some food. 
Fast free wireless provided.
Mr. Daniel makes everything to be sure that your visit will be unforgettable . 
Don't miss out to have a coffee or a col beer at Praça Velha café  :)

The best and friendly place in Guarda Portugal

With an excellent location and an enthusiastic -yet unpunctual host-, the "Guesthouse da Se" is a perfect option to enjoy Guarda at unbeatable prices. The place needs refurbishing and it is definitely as noisy as the street might get... minor details for many travellers!

"A nice place to stay if you don't care about your sleep"

For the price you pay, you can't get any better. The room where I stayed was clean and was quite a reasonable size. It also had a bathroom, which was equally clean and in good condition. The house has an old and simple but beautiful style. The location is perfect. The room where I stayed had a view of the Seat, and is close to all points of interest. The gentleman who hosted us was very friendly and attentive.

Very good location, nice house

There's a bar next door that closes around 6:00 in the morning and no one can sleep. It's horrible, from 2:00 or 3:00 no one can sleep anymore.
