We chose this hotel because of its proximity you can walk to the Alvarenga portico of the 516 bridge and the gateways of the Paiva river.Outside the hotel looks rural but its interior has a lot of charm and that's all you need to get into.We were given a cozy room with an outdoor exit and a teeter with infusions, very comfortable beds, the bathroom was fine (only a small tablet of soap was missing).The breakfast, eggs, bacon, pastries, baked goods, etc. were more than enough to get our strength, as after breakfast we were going to cross the bridge and make the walk through the gateways.

A very good choice.

A pleasant surprise of sympathy and decoration... no small lunches due to the pandemic but with a coffee with excellent appearance and service 30 meters away... the price is not very cheap but the offer is also scarce... for a short stay it's perfect...

Stay for the Passages

We (3 couples) stayed here to be near the Passadicos do Paiva (8km).  The accommodations in the Casa were lovely, as is the town, Alvarenga.  The house is beautifully decorated with comfortable indoor and outdoor spaces to sit.  While there is no breakfast, the Cafe Brasileira around the corner, provided everything including sandwiches, breakfast, ice cream, wine and beer - all at inexpensive prices.  The Casa itself is an old stone structure.  The Town is just charming, worth staying in.  I would recommend staying here to anyone.  While no English was spoken, it was not a problem.  We had stopped at the tourist office in Arouca, on our way in, and this is a good stop to get information on the area.  We also had a good steak dinner at the restaurant on the right as you leave the "downtown".  The only downside is that it was a little hard to find.

Great Place to Stay to Visit the Passadicos

Very high prices for the service provided. The place is even nice, but the price is a bit high. There is no air conditioning and you should avoid breakfast (little variety for what it costs).

Relation quality price very uneven

La Casa do Passadico, is a pleasant rural accommodation, well located but with many shortcomings. Its rooms do not have air conditioning and in summer there is essential. No serving breakfast, no meals, no dinners. They have no refrigerator in the rooms, no parking and the price with these shortcomings is above what should be reasonable. In the rooms that claim to be double the only difference is 30 cm. bed wider, but their price is double. In the same village of Alvarenga there are accommodations that for half the price offer all the complements that the viajero requires and that Casa do Passadico does not have.

A country house in a quiet environment.

Interesting accommodation, integrated into old houses, keeping the stone exterior trace. Decoration well achieved. Well located for a visit to the Pasadizos del Paiva. Friendly attendance. There is no air conditioning; we were on a hot day and the temperature of the room that was assigned to us was totally impractical. We managed to be exchanged for another room a little less warm, but still the temperature was a little uncomfortable. Small lunch with a price apart (5 € per person), weak. More bills were worth taking at a coffee shop nearby. High price for the service and quality presented. Confirms the rumour already mentioned in previous opinions, of the multibank broken and of the fairs to be issued the next day.

Let her wish

It is a well-recovered village house, the location of which is not easy to find, although it is located near the centre of the village. It has extremely heterogeneous rooms, from a tiny room of 7 or 8 m2 that suits us lucky and where there was no room to open a suitcase (other than on the bed) to others more uninhabited.

A Mistake in the Father's Way

House with an exemplary recovery. Quiet, rural, quiet place and with good taste decoration. Comfortable rooms and some with direct access to the outside. Small lunch without being sloppy, but it's enough. For those who don't want to have breakfast there is a coffee shop 30m away that also serves that purpose. I calculate that in winter it can get pretty cold, and the available pad weighs a ton, which is very uncomfortable. The price also doesn't present itself as a bargain. Unfortunately they use the same tactic that unfortunately is a habit in this type of accommodation, which is to say that they don't have a bank because they're broken. It would be better if they didn't even have this type of payment avoiding the need to look for the same room.

Nothing to point at

A very welcoming, comfortable and quiet place. My room had a kettle and a choice of tea and decaf coffee, which I found very thoughtful.
Made me feel at home after a long day of hiking in Arouca Geopark.
