Wayby Country Retreat

The moment we arrived we welcomed by Johan and Debra who were so friendly and kind. Loved the farm setting and the animals...a easy drive to the Matakana Markets...not far to Wellsford (5 mins away) A really nice spot if you feel like a going away for a weekend but dont want to travel too far...a stones throw from Auckland...it feels as though you could be way up north in this wonderful private farm setting. I like the fact that you are not near traffic, noise or shops but at the same time as this you are also close to everything should you need anything etc. I love the idea of heading up here on a friday afternoon and just making do with whatever... the microwave means you can just bring along a easy dinner to reheat. The hosts leave you to your own devices and tell you they are there should you need anything at all it feels as though you are the only ones there with the way the owners house is designed their living areas are towards the other side of the house. The toilet and bathroom are separate but it's a not a big deal and very close to the accommodation also it adds to the experience where you are kind of making do and has that being on holiday kind of feel. I am so glad we found this little gem we will be back.. so thanks Johan and Debra it's my idea of of a lovely peaceful weekend. By the way the breakfast is also great!! see you again from Tanya and Daniel.
