I stayed here in August 2016 for Earth Celebration and absolutely loved my time here. Much easier to access with a rental car, the location is very central so it made an excellent base of operations to take off from. The place is very welcoming, with two dogs and a goat watching over everything. The staff were absolutely fantastic. So kind and helpful. The grandkids even put on their own taiko drum performance for us at breakfast. Overall, it felt like a good slice of Japanese culture, getting a peek into a rural family lifestyle. The food was great too with daily meals (we opted for breakfast only every day, since we couldn't commit to dinner every night). Traditional Japanese cuisine for the most part, along with some local Sado yogurt. The room was very large and accommodating. We had our own ensuite bathroom, and everything was very clean and tidy. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay here. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to go to Sado. It made for an excellent base for us and gave us insight into local island lifestyle, and we look forward to going back to visit one day. If you go, try to find two watercolour paintings on the walls, that was us!
