375 reviewsI have stayed twice at Relais San Lorenzo this year and could not recommend it more highly. The staff are friendly, attentive and professional, the facilities (including restaurant and spa) are excellent and the design of the building (built around a series of ruins dating from 300BC to the 18c) is absolutely stunning. The hotel is small (and cosy for that), and is easily accessible from the airport (the bus leaves you c. 3 mins from the front door). It is situated in Citta Alta, has stunning views, and is close to both funiculars from where you can easily explore the upper and lower areas of Bergamo. Bergamo is a compact, picturesque - and rather under-rated - gem of a city with excellent food and wine and is within an hour train journey to Milan. I am already looking forward to my next visit to Bergamo and Relais San Lorenzo.
