I arrived at ValGrande after a heavy cycling trip. I booked last minute and wasn’t sure what to expect. The last part of the trip (trying to cycle steeply uphill to ValGrande) I was hoping it was worth it. And it sure was! The first thing I noticed was the smell of lavender when entering the gate. The Garden is lovely and full of flowers. The backside garden full of fruit trees with an amazing view over the valley. And there was my private terrace! With two comfy deck chairs where I had a great rest after a good shower in the beautiful bathroom. Everything is superclean, yet homely. In the evening I had dinner in the nearby agriturismo which I can strongly recommend. A 5 course dinner full of food straight from the farm. Could easily compete with a 4 star restaurant. After a great night (it’s super silent) I enjoyed the elaborate breakfast on the upper terrace. The homemade pie and great cappuchino and tasty figs (from the garden?) topped it off. Can highly recommend this place. P.S. After the cycling, I wasn’t really up to it anymore, but there are some very nice walking trails straight from the house.
