Clooneen House

Lovely stay in this hotel. It's in a great position to visit the pubs and bars of Westport. The rooms were very clean, warm and spacious on this Autumn weekend getaway with friends. The beds were very comfortable and the shower nice and hot. There was plenty to choose from for breakfast and the Irish breakfast was really tasty. The young girls serving and in reception were really friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. A very nice stay.

I stayed at this Guesthouse on the 4th of January 2024, I was pleasantly impressed, the room was well furnished and had a very modern en-suite, mattress extremely comfortable which is a great statement about a room, it is a 400 metre distance to the centre of Westport, in the morning I had a wonderful choice of breakfast from cereal to full Irish Breakfast, very friendly staff, I will certainly stay again, well done @Clooneen House Westport.

We three friends booked into the Clooneen for the night of Ralph McTell's concert in Westport. We couldn't be happier with the experience, at Clooneen, from the greeting at reception, the very comfortable beds (and pillows!) and the hearty cooked breakfast. Clean and comfortable! The guest tea lounge was lovely, too. Easy nice walk into Westport town centre. Highly recommended!

Very enjoyable stay at a very reasonable price which included a delicious full irish breakfast Close to town centre.  Very friendly staff. Comfortable rooms with tea/coffee/tv. Idea for visiting this beautiful town. Highly recommend a stay. 

No complaints at all about our stay here. All facilities were very clean and rooms were spacious. A tiny bit dated but no different to the majority of other bnbs I’ve stayed in in Ireland. Accommodation is in a great location, and has plenty of parking outside for free (just get a pass from reception). I found this to be great value for a last minute Saturday night booking compared to other prices in central Westport.

Just finished staying at Clooneen House in Westport,  one word excellent.

This is such a lovely B&B in the heart of Westport town. A stones throw away from the river carrowbeg and the picturesque bridges. 15mins walk Westport house, a further to the quay and a 2 min stumble from the pubs of Westport. 
Hot powerful shower. A comfy bed to rest your feet after a long day of exploring. Nothing was too much trouble at breakfast and the staff were friendly. 
First trip and won’t be our last 10/10.

This is an excellent place to stay. The staff are very accommodating and the food is fabulous. I have a dietary restrictions issue and it was no problem. I was asked what I would like for breakfast and it was all there for me. I’ll definitely be back

Great value stay in a quiet central location with friendly helpful staff. Was pleased to find on site parking for two/three cars. Full Irish breakfast included in the price. If I ever return to Westport I will certainly stay here again.

I stayed 5 nights at Clooneen House, Castlebar Road, Westport at the end of the summer season.

It is a really lovely warm and cosy traditional-style guesthouse. The room was traditional hotel standard with large comfortable beds with quality white bedlinen, trouser press, wardrobe and dressing table, hairdryer, large flatscreen TV mounted on the wall, ensuite bathroom with excellent power shower and hot water at all times, and a welcome folder with 4 different tourist routes advised for the scenic surrounding areas.

The breakfast room is on the ground floor to the right of reception and there is also a relaxing sitting room available to help yourself to tea and coffee with a balcony leading off it overlooking Castlebar Road.

Breakfast was wholesome, nutritious and delicious and piping hot. To start, you were offered juice and cereal, toast - a big plate of white bread, and traditional brown soda bread, was brought to the table, and then a full Irish breakfast of sausages, rashers, black pudding, white pudding, egg and fried tomates.

Tea and coffee was available and I opted for the big pot of freshly brewed filter coffee was excellent. 

The breakfast waiting team are young, cheerful, hard workers and so obliging - they couldn't do enough for you and nothing was too much trouble. 

I do not know the names of all the staff, but Hannah and Oisin stood out in particular. They work really hard to make sure all guests are satisfied and ensuring everything is of the high standard of service that guests expect. They're a great asset to the business.

Everything was spotlessly clean throughout the whole guesthouse.

I would recommend to solo travellers and couples and families as you will  get a great place to stay at a reasonable price and you are 2 minutes walk from the Mall.

What more could you ask for.

The hospitality offered at Clooneen House cannot be faulted, in my opinion.

A very nice stay.

Very Comfortable Stay

Very easy to find.
possible parking outside on the road if you're lucky, alternatively just up the road in the car parks belonging to other hotels.
The Clooneen Guest House was very clean although quite old & in need of updating.
I stayed two nights & my room was adequate but the bathroom was extremely small with no-where to put anything like makeup etc.
Room 10 was on the front, noise from the road could have been a problem but I was so tired it didn't matter to me. 
The bed was really nice & comfortable.
The full Irish Breakfast looked really nice, I'm vegan so the only option they had was beans on (1 slice of) toast.

A nice place that needs a little TLC

Lovely guesthouse in Westport

Very well run guest house. My room did not have much natural light as dark side of hotel, but even so the bed was very comfortable with an efficient shower. Tv, Iron, hair dryer, tea & coffee facilities. The Irish breakfast was a delicious treat as I rarely eat cooked  breakfast. Excellent location beside Castlecourt Hotel where you can meet up with friends and just a short walk away from the centre. 

A comfortable stay, great location.

Only stayed here for one night with friends.
My first impressions were not great, but once we got to our room, which was a bit old fashioned, we were quite happy.
Bed was comfortable, the room spotless and you had everything required.
The owner went out his way in the morning, cooking us an early breakfast so that we could catch an early flight from Knock.
The breakfast was great and the stay was great value for money.

Great Value

My husband and I had a lovely two night stay in Clooneen  House recently. The accommodation was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. I must add that the staff were very helpful especially when they went the extra mile to re-unite us with a package that we left behind in the room. Only one thing please update your info booklet. The Mass time for Sundays is 11 am not 10 am as on the info.

Great location and value

Nice B&B, room was clean and comfy. We had to book a time for breakfast which was new to us. Cash only which was a bit different in this day and age. Nothing spectacular about the place, just a place to sleep. Mind the steps if you’re going upstairs, they’re a bit dicey

Stayed 3 nights at this lovely b&b it may appear old fashioned but it is spotless the staff here work hard to keep up standards also they are so helpful and friendly. Would not hesitate to return or recommend. Thank you for a lovely stay
