Nice location near Assi Gath, quiet resting place, rare in Varanasi, my best hotel in this magical city, ideal for nice dates and relaxing in a fenced garden.

A Refuge of Peace

We went Benaras for 'Darshan' & stayed in Singh Guest House which we booked online...We just loved it... The view and all were awesome...food was also very good and fresh...very calm atmosphere...we refer to all...🙏

We arrived at the Hotel, which is certainly well located, as it is in a quiet area, Only the Garden is very well cared for. They had allocated 2 rooms below. We went in and they were in a deplorable condition, apparently not used for a long time, with a lot of dust, with bad smell and a lot of humidity. We cleaned as much as we could, as they did not charge. When I arrived I told the manager that he would pay for a couple of nights, but the balance would pay at the end (as I always do), at first he agreed, then he waited every day to ask me for the money, reacted in a tremendously aggressive way, thanking me for his other people. The reason was that he was literally enjoying the Holi and the money was not being charged... Finally, I decided that I needed to get the most out of the aggression, and finally, I decided that I would not be able to get the money out of the room, even though I was not really happy to be in the presence of the evil men, and I was not obliged to be in the presence of the evil men.

The worst experience in Varanasi.

After deciding to extend the time in Varanasi, a friend recommended to stay here. Such a wonderful space. Grass and gardens. Rooms are big and spacious. Comfortable beds. Great shower. Friendly dog. 
From the owner to all the staff, thank you. All of them are caring and kind. Ready to help with anything. 
Food is also worth mentioning, all of the food ordered was tasty and fresh. 



Peaceful

My family stayed here over night on the way to catch a flight to Dehradun. Very near to the Ghat and peaceful at night. The room is spacious and clean. 
From the guesthouse to Sarnath by taxi is about 15 to 16km away. Absolutely feasible to have a half-day tour to Sarnath from the guesthouse via taxi.
Food quality at the guesthouse restaurant is very good and reasonable price.
The front desk manager can advice you on local daily tour.

However, beware of rickshaw drivers at the Deen Dayal railway station who always seek to convince you to stay at other Hotel or Guesthouse even though you already make a confirmed booking. Stay on course to your designated Hotel or guesthouses.

Good Location, Clean and Excellent Services

We stayed at Singh for a month & it was certainly a good choice in a holy place such as Varanasi. The garden is most enjoyable, & offers a very peaceful break from the city. Food is good, clean & affordable and so are the rooms. But the best thing about Singh is the staff: friendly, professional, helpful with everything (thank you Dany...).
This is certainly a place we'll come back to next time we're in Varanasi...

I spent 13 days in this wonderful guesthouse. The thing that got me right. from the start was the beautiful garden which the owner (An expert  botanist) is cultivating.  being in crowded varanasi coming back to a quite green guest house is so precious. 
I took an AC room for few days 1300 rs and moved to a room on the roof 300 rs which was perfect for my Yoga practice .
Danny the manager of staff was a real friend.. took me anywhere in his bike and was extremely helpful and knowledgeable with his tips and advices. 
I thank so much  The owner, Danny and the rest of the staff for my great time in varanasi.

Oasis in the middle of varanasi

Singh Guest House was a recommendation we received earlier in the year from two scruffy Yorkshire bikers who were travelling around India on an old Norton. They told us it was a haven of peace and quiet in a crazy city and they were pretty much right about that.
We spent three nights there, ate most of our meals (the restaurant is excellent and very good value) and took a couple of their tourist trips. 
The price is low - we paid 950 per night - and the rooms are a good size though quite basic. That said, you have control of your hot water and there's plenty of it so long as you remember to switch it on. 
Onto my warning about booking. 
I booked via e-globe, the company that popped up when I searched on google. This was back in May for a visit in October. e-Globe totally failed me. Thank goodness I only paid a small deposit of about 600 rupees and, more importantly, that I contacted the hotel to check about an airport pick up. That was when I discovered I didn't have a booking at all. e-globe had taken my money but not passed on the booking. According to Arun Singh at the guest house, this happens quite often.
Also be aware that both that site and booking.com do not have accurate information on their listings. The 950 pn room does not have air conditioning even though both sites (and quite possibly others) say that it does. 

The staff are great, the garden is pretty - although I really would have liked a couple of wicker chairs to encourage us to sit out and enjoy the garden but there were none - and it's not too hard to find although your taxi driver is very unlikely to know it and you will have to walk down the alleyways at the end.

Great place but please book direct

Had a nice stay here, we were supposed to stay for 4 nights but only stayed too as we got everything done in Varanasi that we needed to do and didn’t fancy staying much longer. Hotel is nice, rooms aren’t up to much but for the price you can’t complain, garden is absolutely beautiful and so nice to sit out, you can actually hear the birds tweeting which isn’t something you can hear in India much over all the noise and honking! Haha. Very peaceful place. Be careful with the locks on the door, they are very hard to pull sometimes and are very rusty, between two of us we cut our hands about 7 times! I would have left 5 stars and the only reason I didn’t is because when we were leaving, one of the guys that works in the hotel asked us if we wanted a tuk tuk as soon as left the gate and he put us in one and charged us 300 rupees! Which is thought was very cheeky because they arranged us one for on the way for only 150! Annoyed me a lot to be honest. Other than that, very nice stay!
