This is perhaps best place to stay in case you do not get a place in Sri Ramanashram . Accross the road from the famous ashrams of Ramanashram and Sheshadri ashram it is excellent location close to most places . The rooms are clean and bath rooms are small but have hot running water . The tariff is reasonable and there there are A/C rooms which are priced higher because these are bigger .Smaller room with a/ c will cost less . There is a tiny restorant on the roof top but avoidable . Security is excellent . The view of Arunachala from the roof is stunning . Go for the bigger and a/ c rooms which is about Rs 1500 /- per night .

The guest house with class and cleanliness

I paid Rs1.75k per night for a triple room. As it was during Girivalam time and I have to be in Tiru. The room is not even worth Rs500 in a normal day as I was given a road side facing single room. This room has no AC, the linen was not changed prior to my arrival (it reeks of the last dude still) , floor was not clean and no hot water was available. Road was crazy noisy even during midnight (thank God I have eye-mask and a good set of ear plugs). The only consolation was that the wifi signal was strong. 

I paid Rs3.8k in cash and thought to myself as Satish's (owner's name) attitude was overall ok. 2 days after my departure, I find that he has cancelled my booking with the sole intention to extract a full cancellation refund from my credit card. 

For a room which isn't even worth Rs500 per day, he is trying to make Rs7.6k from me! Dishonest hotel business at its worst . 

Fortunately, Agoda has resolved this issue to prevent them from extracting more money.

Dirty, noisy and no hot water... At the best day their room would worth Rs500 max. Think twice before risking being double charged.

The location is great as it is close to Ramana’s ashram, but that is the redeeming factor.  That and the roof top terrace, it makes a great place for yoga and meditation.  

This may be the first poor review I’ve written but it would be a disservice to future guests and the hotel to not do it.  

We had reserved rooms for a large group on a traveling retreat.  We were assured there was hot water in all the rooms but only half the rooms hot water actually functioned.  WIFi in one of the buildings was not functioning most of the time.  The sheets did not appear to be clean and when we were leaving the hotel one of our attendees said she saw that the staff appeared to turn the sheets over instead of changing them. I did not see this myself but sadly I believe that could be the case.  

We had to ask for towels and toilet paper for each room after arriving and a long day of travel when they knew where we were traveling from and the time we would arrive.  I had been in communication with the “boss” off and on for two months prior to arrival and he had promised breakfast could be provided each morning for an additional fee and the day of arrival he informed me that this would not happen.  Upon checkout there was some question about the price they were charging based on the room price reserved at booking.com, the manager at the time was quiet rude to our group leader and myself.  The rest of the staff was curteous during our stay.  

I sincerely hope this was just a bad few days for this hotel and that they will improve upon the cleanliness.  Simple is fine and no hot water is fine if you are expecting no hot water, but the sheets, cleanliness and attitude of manager/boss need to be improved.

The Location is the Redeeming Factor

The price is really high for the service offered. There is NO LENZUOLA. NO WATER HOT. They gave us loose towels. They only provide a roll of toilet paper, then you have to go buy it. OK wi fi. There is no laundry service as indicated.

Highly not recommended

Minimalist room.With a double & twin bed there was barely enuf space to move around. Running hot water but bare amenities only. only 2 plug points - carry an extender :-)
some mosquitoes. very helpful supervisor.

A bit far from temple/ clean rooms

Despite a reservation three months earlier, a confirmation a week earlier, the rooms had been given to others on the day we arrived. And nothing to offer but two miserable rooms the next day.

Watch out for the little reliability of this hotel.

I booked here in advance on Booking.com specifically so I could be close to the main Ashram area. Upon arrival at 12pm I was informed that there was no room available but they can take me to a nice place 3km away, I declined. When next in Tiruvannamalai a week later I booked a room at a hotel around the corner, Mountain Breeze, however it was under the same management and the same thing happened. 

Booked in advance and no room available 

We stayed in this hotel for several years in a row. The hotel liked it, clean enough, clean laundry, welcoming staff. Good security, there was not a single case of intrusion into the room of strangers. Very liked the owner of the hotel, he always listens to the requests of his guests, making their stay as comfortable as possible. The hotel is located near Ramana Ashram, which is also important.

Good price and quality combination

The guest house was clean and very close to the Ramana ashram , that was the reason of my visit .  The first day I was given a small room with the window facing the noisy road . The days after I had a simple room , a bit dark ( budget ) but bigger and more comfortable . The bathroom was ok , no hot shower . The wi fi was very good and fast . The staff was nice and helpful . Good value for money . 

Good position. 

Dingy, dark and dirty. I had booked in advance, i stayed and spent the time looking for something else. The sink was full of short, dark, curly hair. Toilet broken, electrics didn't work. Surly and not terrible helpful staff.
