A Royal luxurious setting amidst the beautiful mountains and the scenic Dal lake makes the Shahnama House Boat one of the best choices for a perfect experience! 
Ilyas Bhai was a top notch host and never let us feel like we were a guest. 
He ensured that we were treated royally and right without missing the warmth of our home. The icing on the cake was the lip smacking food! 
Hats off to the team and keep up the good work always! 👍

Great hospitality and maintained very clean and neat. Staff called ismail bhai is very friendly and took very good care of us providing all necessities immediately. Loved the stay here. Most recommend for others

Visited in Aug 2015, Shahnama Houseboat are well located in Dal Lake, careaker is a good guy. Got Kashmiri Kahwa as welcome drink. Evening we got an Hrs of Shikara ride at Dal Lake which was part of our package. Rooms are good and dining hall and lobby has many antiques item as well. It was really an experience to sit on the deck in the evening and enjoy the cool breeze. All in all a good experiance.

They have great house boats with very artistic interiors. The location and view is good. A different experience to stay in Houseboats.. the rooms are good and well maintained. Food is ok..but it's more about the experience to stay in Houseboats which make the difference and also the ambiance which is great.

We stayed 1 night in this boat ,Great view from out side of House Boat Big Hall like our Home and Big Dining hall more than our Home and a spacious Bed Room with electrical blanket every thing is fine but small inconveniences also here and we must know that these problems are for most of the House Boats.
1.We have to hear the sounds from our adjacent rooms.
2. Bath tubs and showers both were not working properly.
Receiving and Food also GOOD.

Good Houseboat to stay at Srinagar

Best house boat in Dal lake.

It was a great experience in Shahanama! The houseboat is amazing, no doubt. But the owner/worker seemed a little rude and disrespectful. He didn't even provide us a good meal while we were on board. 
The interiors of the houseboat were amazing though. And the view from the boat was good too. ❤

All in all a good experience for a first timer. It was very exciting. Would have given 4 stars but I'm giving a star less cuz of the unfriendly owner. 

PS:We were there through a travel agency. Our agent had booked the houseboat for us.

Pleasant surprise!

A nice experience to be in a house-boat. It had a living room, kitchen, attached bath etc. When we did not like the food the caretaker allowed us to cook. However, there was no grocery. He asked us to prepare lemon rice using leftover rice.
