KTDC Tamarind Thirunelly

Our group consisted of two families with 4 kids and our parents...tdcvtamarind is very close to tirunelli temple...it's just walkable distance...we reached in the afternoon and we recieved a warm homely lunch...the staff is excellent they are always warm and helping....food is excellent. We came back only at 10 pm at night for dinner they made a hot dinner immediately...they even helped our kids....on the way we saw elephants also... bedrooms are neat and clean... don't compare with 7 or 5 star hotels...very nature friendly place..staff is much better than 5 star or 7 star hotels

Would never have planned for a stay at a KTDC hotel when other options were available but this time around I was pleasently surprised at the neat and comfortable property at this hotel  which is but a short distance from the temple. The staff appeared to vie with each other in courteousness.  Right from the reception to the  restaurant it was a pleasent experience. I would recommend this place to any body  making a visit to this temple hamlet.

The hotel is owned by KTDC and 1.5 km away from the Vishnu temple. The location is awesome and rooms are spacious. The staff are friendly and food served was tasty. Overall it was a quite good weekend at KTDC Tamarind at Thirunelly

Visited here during the last Onam holidays. September 10 to 12. Situated on the sides of Thirunelly forest and very near to Thirunelly temple. Very simple place. Could watch a wild Elephant family near the hotel !. Also saw groups of deers, and wild gaurs while coming to the property. Cant forget the affectionate dog family in the hotel compound.  intelligent and cute. You have to see to believe it. Overall nice experience. 

A homely stay very near to the Thirunelli Temple, Approach road is a bit rocky but it adds to the wilderness of the place.
Great atmosphere, If you are traveling from Bangalore it's just 2.5 hours from Mysuru.
As the property lies in the reserve forest area, I am sure you would get connected to nature without a doubt.

Staff is very friendly, why I mentioned homely stay in the title is that the whole crew won't eat the food until n unless all their guests are fed. 

Rooms are big and well maintained even though the property is old. Once again like to thank all the staff members head by Jagesh KB.

Room was all good and descent which can be expected in such a forest location. The only concern was with the limited menu option. What ever menu is available, food was good with it. Only flaw was to order the food way in advance.

The location is perfect - calm and quiet , You get a total heavenly experience .

Rooms were good , well maintained and comfortable . 

The road to the hotel was gutter , so had some difficult driving the car .

Choice of food option is minimal which needs to be given in advance.

It is well maintained hotel by KTDC, Staffs are helpful a courteous, Thanks to Girish and & team. WIll have limited food option, and informed before hand to arrange it. It is quite away from locality, nearest locality is around 20KM, Kattikulam. Nice getaway from citi. Road to it from Tholpetty is very good with continuous turns. Saw Bison and deer, in evening while travelling back to hotel. 

Tamarind thirunelly is located at thirunelly near to the agraharam resorts. It's a resort operated by the ktdc. The road to the hotel is good and is provided with adequate sign boards. Follow those boards to reach there cos inside the forest gps facilities are not available. The final 300 metres is a bit of bad road, so be careful while you travel that distance. This hotel is provided with ac deluxe double rooms and non ac dormitory 10 bedded rooms. Rooms can be booked through their website and travel sites but the dormitory is available only through the website. 
The check in process was smooth and the rooms are all well maintained. We booked the 10bedded dormitory as we went there as a group for the trekking at the brahmagiri hills. Food is available, limited options, that too if you book earlier. They will accept phone order, so if you are making a trip there make the order prior to arrival. Room is provided with two bathrooms and toilets and television. The service provided by them is excellent compared to the limitations they have. Nice view of the hills, we can have from the outside of the hotel. This hotel is close located to the brahmagiri hills trek point and thirunelly temple. We had rice cake (puttu) and green gram curry as breakfast which was very good but a little expensive.  The best part of the hotel was that they provided us a room for getting freshen up after the trekking which was so much of relief for us. Altogether it's a nice option for the trekkers here in thirunelly.

Tamarind thirunelly.. amazing stay and service.

This hotel is near the thirunelly temple just 1.5Km before it. The approach road from main road to the hotel is paved with stones and that 200metres is a bumpy ride indeed , a real test for your vehicles shock absorbers..!! We reached there towards the afternoon and we were the only people present there. 
Thirunelly is a place where visitors mainly arrive for an overnite stay , with the sole objective of concluding the last rites of their beloved ones , so luxury is not always on the top of their mind …!!! And this has been understood by KTDC too…Not much luxury here but value for money…hmm…yes.
The rooms are big with hot water and other facilities 
The food is quite delicious – But you need to give order and patiently wait for atleast 50min…that’s ok as the food is prepared fresh . Nothing wow in it…if only they can make the approach road better , this place will be Swarming with guests
