This simpel guesthouse has everything you need for your iceland trip! There is a fully equipped (shared) kitchen including microwave and oven. Moreover, the rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast is simple yoghurt, milk, juice and cereals with unlimited coffee and tea.

Wonderful guesthouse, practically in the town center. Easy to park right in front of the house, check-in and check-out super easy! The guesthouse is literally in front of the shopping center.Room spotless clean and very spacious bathroom. You can use the common kitchen as a guest, and it's very well furbished, lot of pots and pans. It even has owen and dishwasher! common area with books and boardgames. You will find the basics for breakfast (coffee, tea, cocoa, milk, cereals and yogurth) for free in the morning (or you can still use the kitchen if you want to cook for yoursel something else). Everything wonderful and spotless clean! Really amazing

Excellent stay! Comfy beds and lovely accommodations .

It was nice to have kitchen items available and have two rooms so close so we could go between them easily.  This guest house is in easy walking distance to a grocery store or gas station to get food, or ths local pool which was very nice.

Great coffee machine. Light continental breakfast that got us started.

We cooked our own breakfast, although they had a free cold breakfast. Convenient location.

It was a great place to stay, the staff was really friendly and it was located near a grocery store and gas station.  The town itself is very beautiful so we are glad to stay in a nice place!

We had a delightful stay at Apotek in Hofn, Iceland. The room was exceptionally clean, quiet, and comfortable, making for a very relaxing experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed the shared kitchen, which was well-equipped and convenient, and the reliable Wi-Fi, which kept us connected throughout our stay.A pleasant surprise was the coffee machine that also dispenses hot chocolate, a lovely touch that we greatly appreciated. The surrounding area is beautiful and picturesque, perfect for leisurely walks and exploration.Overall, we highly recommend Apotek for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Hofn.

Good value, comfortable stay and excellent location. The beds were comfortable, it was clean, it is within walking distance to restaurants, pool and shore and the staff was friendly. Breakfast is basic with yogurt and cereal. The rooms themselves were quiet until other guests were in the breakfast area and then became loud.

No space in shower or sink for toiletries and poor design of shower allows water to spread all over bathroom floor.  Sloping ceiling over bed is problematic for taller guests and makes getting in and out of bed difficult. Other than cereal, coffee and some pourable yogurt, not much choice for breakfast and guests have to supply anything additional at their own expense.Overall, it’s a good, clean and comfortable place but with basic amenities.

Interior: rooms are nicer than exterior would present... and much nicer than lobby. Small rooms but great beds and so nice to have blackout curtains for midsummer. Very comfortable beds! Excellent shower and bathroom...Breakfast was VERY good (those breakfast cake squares were just delicious!) Great coffee, and I love the yogurt in cartons that we found at several hotels during our stay. Really appreciated the self-serve towels in closet in hallway tooNice stay

Mostly positive

We’ve stopped off at this guesthouse a number of times when we visit Vestrahorn. Every time we have been impressed with the cleanliness and comfort on offer. You get a lot for a very little price and it’s what keeps us coming back year after year.

Breakfast is basic and consists of cereals and yoghurts but it’s included in your room rate. The guest house has a very hostel type vibe to it but that just adds to the pleasure of staying here.

Best bang for buck in Iceland

This was my favorite of all the places we stayed in Iceland. It was clean, quiet, and the mattresses were extremely comfortable. Even though there are several rooms in this house and there was no more vacancy, we never heard any other people. The breakfast area was fine. It could have used a few more breakfast items. They did offer milk, yogurt, and coffee/tea. It was clean and super comfortable so would highly recommend and would stay there again.

Fantastic stay

A good value and comfortable base for a couple of days in Hofn. we stayed just one night and didn’t have time to explore much as we had to drive on quickly the next day to stay ahead of the snowstorm1 

 
Liked · Easy access and check in, comfortable, warm, good location , nice facilities to make drinks and included simple breakfast (cereal, yoghurt, orange juice) . Self catering kitchen. The lady who runs it was around loading and unloading dishwasher and was pleasant . We ate in the evening at Kaffi Hornid very close up the road walking. This was a lively bar serving good value and delicious food. seemed to be plenty of locals there.

Disliked · The self catering kitchen needs a bit of a refurbishment. I tried to use frying pans but they were both badly damaged and bowed so much on the bottom no heat transferred and the insides were damaged. The one tea towel was wet and dirty at breakfast….we made omelette as the provided breakfast is basic.

Good value, clean and comfortable self catering

Stayed for 1 night while driving the Ring Road. We arrived a bit late, but the keys for our room were right at the check-in counter. Our room was clean, beds were comfortable, and we had our own bathroom. Rate included breakfast. There was a good selection of mostly cold items to pick from. However, coffee and pastries is just fine with me.

Quiet and clean

Very clean. We had a room on the first floor and it was quite large with a large bathroom. Very quiet area. There is a large common room area on the first floor. It was little used due to COVID, but in normal times when people are sociable, our room right next to it might have been noisy. Contactless check-in. Saw an employee only briefly as we dropped our keys and left. Was there a breakfast included during COVID? Hard to say. I pulled some cereal out of a cupboard and some milk out of the fridge, but I'm not sure if I was supposed to do that?
Grocery store very close by. Restaurants by the harbor were a little further away. It could have been walkable, but with a cold wind blowing and after a long and active day we were content to hop in the car and drive the 3 minutes there.
