Hullam Hostel

Everyone was very nice. We stopped for one night while doing the bike tour around Balaton. It was perfect to shower and sleep. Coffee is amazing!!! Maybe it’s a bit pricey, but in the neighborhood it was the most wallet friendly. 

We spent almost a week in Révfülöp & did not want to leave Hullam Hostel in the end.
The rooms are kept simple, but the common outside area and bar invite you to relax, have a beer or coffee (cappuccino very much recommended!) and meet other travelers. 
The owners / staff are super helpful (with finding ferries and trains, giving directions and everything else) and are always around and make you feel like home. 
Coming from Budapest, the train station is only minutes away and the lake and supermarkets are in walking distance. 
You don’t want to miss staying here and enjoy a few days off any city trouble! We will be back!! 

They serve sandwiches and drinks. They have the standard drinks, nothing special but you can select from a wide variety of drinks. The sandwiches are delicious and fine for a breakfast. The prices are the normal rates according to the type of the place.

I came to Lake Balaton to escape the noise of Budapest and unfortunately, due to various school groups staying at the hostel, my trip was not as relaxing as anticipated.
The rooms were basic but adequate although there were not enough outlets for each person to have one. The shared bathrooms were clean and I never found myself having to wait to use one.
The best part of this hostel was the friendly and helpful staff and the fact that they have a very affordable all you can eat dinner prepared for you every night.

The hostel is located about 100 metres from Revfulop train station, which has regular services from Budapest, making the hostel very easy to reach. Upon arrival I did have to wait 30mins before the owner arrived, which was a little frustrating. The dorm itself was basic but comfortable. The bathroom worked but seemed a little tired. I was also a little concerned as there were no lockers or other secure area to store valuables. The door to the dorm was lockable, though security is easily breached if one of your dorm-mates forgets to lock the door. The wifi also doesn't reach the bedroom. There is a very basic kitchen connected to the bar for preparing food, however there is only one hot plate making it difficult to prepare more 'sophisticated' dishes such as pasta with sauce. It's not all doom and gloom however. The swimming spot in the lake is a five minute walk away and the hostel loans out bikes making it easy to explore the beautiful surroundings. Zoli, our host also provided us with a map and plotted a route for us to take, which included nearby points of interest, such as the Needlepoint rock formation. 

Overall, whilst the more high maintenance traveller may have a few issues, those who are prepared to rough it a little will find this place caters to all their needs.



We really liked this hostel. it's on a quiet area but they organize concerts almost every night on the bar. it's near by the lake and a small mountain to see great sunsets. the beds are cosy and everything is cleaned everyday. One of the best things is that they cook every night really yummy Hungarian food for just 5 euros, and you can eat as much as you want. the staff is very kind and always helpful. if you wanna be surrounded by local people and have a great time you should definitely come here. thank you guys!!
