I absolutely loved this place! It was cozy, comfortable, and above all, clean. The hotel is newly remodeled, which added a fresh and modern touch that I really appreciated. The food was outstanding, and the outdoor lounge area and pool were perfect for relaxing. Highly recommend!

Was travelling for business to Accra, on a friend’s recommendation chose to stay at the Lancaster Accra.

It was an excellent choice as compared to other hotels in the city this is not a tall skyscraper but rather a three-level hotel with tranquility and plenty of vast green spaces. In fact, a vast sanctuary with plenty of room to rest, relax and do business.
Ideal for the weary traveler looking for clam and peace this hotel is a resort with friendly staff from the reception to the housekeeping all greeting their guests with a smile. I chose this hotel the second time of my travel to Accra and was delightfully pleased with the consistency of the service.

The hotel has a large restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with an impressive buffet and plenty of seating capacity both indoors and outdoors by the poolside. The restaurant serves both local and international cuisine with a variety of seafood options. Service and hospitality are impeccable in true Ghanaian style. The staff are always smiling and ready to help with their guests’ special dietary requests.
The pool side has a bar that serves all kinds of alcoholic drinks and is a beautiful place to unwind in the evening with music from the ninety’s playing all night long and if one would like they can watch a game of football on the large TV screens outdoors.

The hotel has a shop that sells large paintings from their resident artist Mr. Kofinduro. His paintings are worth owning and Kofinduro himself is readily available to explain the meaning behind his painting. An always smiling humble gentleman, I’m putting up some of his work of art and his photo with his permission. Please do buy his paintings if you are an art lover and let his work of art adorn your home or office.

A special mention for Ms. Francisca at the restaurant who was ever smiling with a pleasant demeanor and ready to offer suggestion and accommodate by a-la-carte-request. A shout out to Ms. Linda from the reception for your impeccable service and all the housekeeping staff who readily greeted all their guests and tidied my room for me. 

Looking forward to stay at the Lancaster if my travels bring me to Accra.


Security is utmost at the hotel. You MUST go thru screening, much like the airport,  before you enter the premises. Cars must be searched before they are allowed in the gates.The hotel staff was friendly and courteous. I spent 10 days there. It was 2 blocks from a local grocery store. I walked here to get snacks for my room. It had wonderful fruit. I so much wanted to bring fresh fruit home to the USA. During my stay, I took advantage of the spa and received both a massage and a facial. It was a wonderful experience. The gift shop was very nice. I bought fabric there along with other things for souvenirs. I found the prices reasonable. I asked the shop owner if he could give me a name of a seamstress if I bought fabric. He gave me the name of YaaYaa. She has clothing in the shop for sale. I was able to get several items custom made. The quality was excellent and was made  in a couple of days. 
I enjoyed being able to have breakfast right there in the hotel at a buffet  and had eggs made the way I desired them.
The hotel has an ATM, currency exchange and accepts credit cards. For the currency exchange best rate take large bills, for example US 50 or 100 dollars. The bills must be recent and not soiled.

A casino is at the hotel. I did not visit it.

I loved the place, it was clean, quiet, and comfortable. I  enjoyed the breakfast buffet and also enjoyed the seafood pasta from their a la carte menu. There is an ATM and money exchange office therein. The lobby is beautiful and the staff is helpful at all times.

This hotel has a really nice lobby, a nice restaurant, and a beautiful poolside area, but my room was a disappointment.  It was spacious and clean but the furniture is old and mismatched and needs to be replaced. 

The temperature in the lobby was too hot, it felt as if the air was not working at all. 

The servers in the restaurant were kind and responsive

Some of the front desk staff and the servers in the snack bar were rude and dismissive 

They promptly responded to service calls

Business meeting pleasure

Cozy, Comfy and Clean

Lancaster Hotel Accra, in Ghana, is located close to the airport and downtown. They take safety and security very seriously because as you enter the hotel you have to go through a security check point. 

The lobby is beautifully designed and the receptionists were very friendly and helpful. Their is a money exchange office on site. A few shops to purchase gifts: an Art Gallery, pool, and a hair salon.  The dinning hall has a buffet for breakfast and dinner or you can order a la carte. The breakfast buffet was very good with many options. However, the dinner buffet was alright depending on the evening, but a la carte was an option.

My room was clean and comfortable for 2 people.  However, their were not enough towels, but once I called housekeeping, they brought additional ones. The tub was so high I had to sit on the edge to get into it to take a shower.  I eventually brused my left leg.  The Lancaster Accra was ok.

Lots of Amenities and a Casino!!

No one at any time warns you that the hotel is totally rebuilt!!! This means that there are works and interventions everywhere!
Not to mention the deafening noise of hammering drills, etc., etc. In the main hall, in the restaurant area which has been halved, in the pool bar area, in the rooms!

In the room then there is the half black ceiling, then during my stay it was solved by going to give it a coat of paint!!!
And this is how Lebanese ownership solves these things!
Disgusting to say the least.
A mockery not to say that customers are being taken for a ride.
This is no way to renovate a hotel by keeping it open with all the inconveniences of an open building site.
To me it is downright opportunistic to act in this way. Not acceptable.
The rooms have not been renovated yet, everything as old as before.
But then they are world champions to cash in, here everything works like a charm, and there are no discounts for inconveniences or for things in the rooms that don't work, no that is of course normal as for many hotels in Africa where the situation is much worse.
All this is a total lack of respect for the customer who then pays for a service he does not receive!

It is clear to me that I will never stay here at the Lancaster again!
Let them go and cheat people, but it is also clear that they will lose customers!

Bad experience in October to begin of November 2023 at Lancaster hotel Accra

The reception isn’t that great. Nothing extra ordinary. Unlike other same star hotels, staff weren’t friendly. We  ordered for two dishes , it was good but their pizza was a disaster. Didn’t taste great. First time and aren’t going back. Tea

I ordered for seafood pizza and it was not cool at all. I rate it 2 . Needs much improvement.

Location was perfect, seemed to be close to everything. I felt very safe here. They had staff at the main door also you needed to have your room key to access the passageway to the elevators and rooms. During my stay most of the time the card key access wouldn't work and I had to return to the front lobby or wait for someone to come and open the doors. I walked the stairs most of the time because the elevators were too small for multiple people. The biggest con was the service. It was either slow or non-existent. Everyone had slight attitudes no one looked or acted happy to work. Housekeeping service would clean the room after 4pm and if you ask them to come back they won't. It was hard to get fresh new towels. They don't change the bed linen. They just make up the bed with old sheets. The air conditioner stopped working. The service at the bar and pool area bar was very terrible. Once it took 50 minutes to get an order of stale fries. I had to fight with the bar maid to fulfill the order he first told me they don't have any food left, then he told me it would be better if I ordered it from my room, then he took an extra 20 minutes to bring back change when I paid for the food with cash. The food buffet was lack luster; it left a lot to desire. Money breakfast was filled with a lot of people returning from the club. It was the breakfast spot. In total it was a weird experience. I would not stay here again. The staff is not inviting and service sucks.

Nice hotel with a lot of cons

I have ordered lamb cutlet and the meat was half fat. I didn’t had the chance to complain to the restaurant’s manager since he was not available. I have insisted and complained to the chef. 
I told him that this is cheating and it is not acceptable. You pay full price for a bad food.
It has to be corrected immediately!
