I don't know why there are so many bad reviews here. Hotel rooms clean, big TVs, clean bathroom with shower, central location with 4 minutes walk from the old town and parking lots. Breakfast is served. My previous commentator on the mobile phone charging station mentioned that the night table lamp on the night table is connected to a multi-plug that you can use without any problems for mobile phones and co. Wi-Fi is free and good.

Nice little hotel in a central location

Seriusly so upset with my staying at this hotel. I travel most of the time for work so i have plenty experiance staying in hotels. Very basic 1 star hotel with no elevator and expencive for no reason. I stayed 10 days and they changed me room 3 times. Ive been to the 3rd floor in a dirty room with no private bathroom and shower. I payed the same price though. After all they changed my toilet paper ONCE in 10 days so i had to buy my own. And the worst part , as i said im travelling for work so i come back in my room at night.  And thats the tine when they turn the heating off and the hot water. Seriusly??? And i had to pay this room   same price as in frankfurt or stuttgart in 4 star hotel with  top quality rooms and service. They are just greedy and take advantage of the small village that there are no other options.

Seriously bad!!

Good price, clean, well located, super friendly and attentive owner. A good breakfast. Quiet location very close to the center, shops and restaurants. Anyone complaining would have to look for 4 or 5 stars for the price!

Stupidity is the result.

The room was a bit dirty, just two plugs when TV and light were on, no cell phone or laptop power supply, no rolling stock in front of the darkness in the room, the floor is crumbling, you can't sleep well, and the low price is not justified, but the reception was friendly.

Old bad hotel

The hotel is simple but purposefully furnished and not too small. The room was very clean. A shower that also works. Breakfast (on request) is assembled by the boss individually and is more than enough. The reception is only open at certain times but a key can be deposited if necessary. One wormhole: the street next to the hotel. Who sleeps with open windows must be used to street noise and also that 2 churches ring at 7 a.m. more than just the clock is necessary.

A good starting point for exploring the old town

The Romäus is not a holiday hotel and not necessarily a cracker optically - BUT if you are on a business trip or get one or two nights in one of the renovated rooms, then the stay is very ok. My room No. 8 was apparently only recently renovated and has a pleasantly large bathroom with a well-functioning shower and appealing materials. The bed was soft but I slept very well. The operator is a very nice man who gave me good tips for eating (the R. unfortunately does not have his own kitchen) and a delicious breakfast buffet (not a buffet - which is a rest at breakfast!)

Solid accommodation with a nice host

Hotel Romäus is a convenient 8 minute walk from the train station. When I got there around Noon, the door was locked, but a quick call to the telephone number shown on the door window and I was meeting the owner. It's helpful to have your mobile phone with you to accomplish this call. (For our American friends, providers like Verizon have plans that cost $10/day to use your phone abroad consuming your home data and minute allowances. Just make sure you activate before travel.) 

The proprietors did not speak much English, but my German is passable. They were very friendly and welcoming to me and later, showed me how to get to the old city. That's a short walk and there is even an Irish Pub (Fürstenberg's) on the way.

I was surprised at an earlier review. I found the room to be clean. Yes, there was a small amount of mold in the shower. Yet, the shower looked scrubbed and otherwise, spotless. (I think it was cleaner than my shower at home!)

There was a bottle of spring water awaiting me in the room. The bed was comfortable... not too soft... not too hard. 

I will stay here again!
