We came here - after a long day of boating with our yacht. Not easy to find - but really worthwhile looking for! Nice atmosphere and great selection of real good German food! Plus very friendly staf - that made for a nice evening!!

Four of us (two couples) stayed at the Mecklenburger Hof Hotal in Mirow for four nights.  The hotel is an older, traditional, style hotel but the bathrooms were modern and the rooms comfortable. No air-conditioning.  We had two double rooms on the second floor (no lift) and they were the hotel's larger rooms, costing 70 euros per room per night including breakfast.  The rooms had a settee and a wardrobe and table in addition to two single beds and the en suite had toilet, washbasin and shower.   All was spotlessly clean.         Breakfast was good, with boiled egg, cheese, ham and rolls plus yoghurts and other jams and cheeses.   The restaurant has an extensive menu and we thought the food good.  English is spoken by the proprietor.

The hotel is situated in the centre of Mirow on a crossroads, so if you are bothered by traffic noise, probably best to avoid it (though it is double-glazed).

We would recommend it as being good value for money and a pleasant place to stay.

A Traditional Hotel which was good value

Great place for German Food

The overall rating belies our experience. The hotel was the cheapest we came across in our 7 weeks in Germany. We were in the country in the high season and I think most Germans must have holidayed at home. Anyway it is situated on a very busy road, and if we opened the windows to get some cool air, we heard the traffic. There is no air con. However, for the price, one cannot expect too much. On the plus side it is near the Schlossinsel and the Liebesinsel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room spotless, the breakfast was cheap and quite OK. Overall,

Good Value for Money

Eventhough the TV was full of channels and the staff speaks English and the rooms are quite big, the overall quality is rather not that superb. The breakfast was quite economic and the walls in the room were stained. The bathroom was super-clean. Overal quality/price = 3. No internet in the room :(
