My husband and I, and our three children had the best night of our two week stay in Germany in this quaint German town at this charming hotel run by two wonderfully gracious hosts. We arrived without a reservation after having lost our way along the Romantic Road. Our hosts, Christine and Eric not only worked quickly to get a couple of rooms ready for us, but also prepared an amazing German meal even though the kitchen was closing. Eric sat down with us and interpreted the German menu for us while running back and forth from the kitchen to help his wife with other work. The food was off the charts delicious with local fresh, fare featured on the menu. We stayed up late talking with Christine, Eric and other guests who frequent the restaurant. It was an evening to remember! Not only is the food amazing but the accommodations are fabulous too. The kids loved the gummy bears tucked under their pillows. The rooms are freshly remodeled and the beds are extremely comfortable. The next morning Christine prepared a delicious breakfast for us and Eric gave us their very own atlas to help us find our way back to the Romantic Road. After a quick walking tour of the the historic lot and and barn, we reluctantly loaded the car and continued on our way. What began as a mistaken turn on a road turned out to be a serendipitous one that we will never forget. We only wish we had known about it sooner so we could spend another evening here.
