We were let down by another hotel some miles away and found Avenue de la Gare online. After missing it a couple of times, we were greeted by Guy and Nadia. They couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. The building is quirky and interesting, our room was beautiful, spotlessly clean. It was wonderful to sit on the platform of an old railway station, drinking and chatting to our hosts. As it was Sunday, France was 'shut' so nowhere to eat... Nadia provided us with a wonderful spread of cold meats, cheeses and bread. Guy supplied one of the best red wines we have ever tasted! Breakfast was so very good. I'd recommend Avenue de la Gare to anyone, railway enthusiast or not... it's fantastic!
