l'Echiquier Opéra Hotel Paris - MGallery Collection

The entire experience at L' Echiquier was fantastic! We had to shift to L'Echiquier from our service apartment in Paris as the apartment was horrible and disgusting and totally opposite of what had been promised to us. As I had stayed at a MGallery hotel in Bangkok earlier, I was ecstatic to see they had some rooms left. After a quick call with Fredrick, we had 2 rooms. He worked out a better breakfast inclusive rate for us within a few minutes. The check in was prompt and and the staff was very helpful and sympathetic about our experience at the service apartment the day before and did a lot to make us comfortable. We got our rooms around 2 pm and the hotel had already put our bags in the rooms. Even though the rooms are smaller than what we are used to in Asia, they were neat, tidy and comfortable with a Nespresso machine, fridge, safe and tea maker. The bed and pillows were extremely comrftable. The bathroom was full of Clarins amenities and was very clean too. The housekeeping during the stay was very good and we always came back to a very clean room. The rooms had great sound insulation as there was ZERO noise in the room during the day or night! The breakfast had s small selection but the food was decent. The croissants were excellent! And the staff at the restaurant is very helpful and courteous and prompt with their service! Aimee at front desk was FANTASTIC! She gave us a lot of excellent recommendations about restaurants and also helped us prebook our airport cab. All the other staff at the Front Desk is also really great. They're all very helpful and go out of the way to ensure that you have a comfortable stay. The hotel is located barely a couple of minutes on foot from the Metro station and there are a lot of great restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel. Would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone going to Paris!
