Royal Garden Champs-Elysées

We booked this hotel because it has an underground car park (a rarity in the centre of Paris) and we were staying over for an event before going on to the south of France. Reviews also praised the spacious rooms. TOP TIP: read the message carefully from the hotel that tells you the precise dimensions of the cars their parking will accommodate. It turned out ours was too long to fit in, so we had to find the nearest public underground parking (Indigo Hoche). This may not sound too bad, but we had driven from England and this came on top of about an hour and half maze-driving around the terrifying one-way systems and kamikazi traffic/motorcycles/electric scooters/pedestrians walking out in front of you, trying to find the hotel. Putting Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré into the satnav does not work, as it's a very long street, with different one-way sections not necessarily in the same direction! It was not a good start. However, the hotel staff were charming and helpful at all times, even when we were clearly stressed. Our room was indeed spacious, with a balcony and very comfortable, decent-sized bed. Breakfast was a lovely surprise - in an airy garden/conservatory-style room - and all delicious. We would definitely stay again if we come to Paris. Though we'll make sure we don't bring a car.
