If you are looking for immersion, you are there!!!! The place (former revolutionary prison) is enough for itself. Very pleasant welcome from Sylvie (employed by the owners of the tower) who will tell you with the passion that animates the history of this site. You can say it wrongly: The most beautiful view of Blois Auvertissement. But you can find it wrongly: I think that the tower's owners (a couple of architects who have been waiting for the construction of this hotel since the last moment) have not yet been entrusted to the host as a dining-room for lunch and have not been used as a host of the same hotel since the last minute.

It's a fabulous place to FUIR!

If the location and the medieval tower are indeed remarkable, the terrace in theory is also if all this did not turn out to be a scam given the price charged in relation to an announcement without details. It is the old prison with two very dark rooms and a living room in a very small and very dark room (one would think in a basement...), not to mention the basic and dirty kitchen with the decorated walls of sites of dirty water leaks... Dusty housing, remains covered with bird droppings, very dirty and impractical common parts, the sheets of a very clean city, etc... All this for the lack of clarity and obvious comfort, not to mention the basic and dirty kitchen with the decorated walls of sites of dirty water leaks.

A false announcement of a real scam

The +: idea of original accommodation, nice experience, bunk (double bed) very well, able to enjoy the place in peace, access to the terrace + top panoramic view... The -: impression of fast made/wrong made works (bank room parquet, tile sdb, huge traces of concrete projection/painted on ceiling and kitchen wall, no suspension on the hallway ceiling, just 2 wires and a light bulb x2...) certainly to rent as quickly as possible, furnished kitchen certainly but only with 1st price etc. And let's say that our owner Mr. Filliine is an architect... let's talk about the owner. At 17:00 the site we were arriving at would have been very nice to ask for nothing to be done to allow our rent to be paid. Then we had to let him down the hall and then we had to pay him a nice price, but we had to settle down the situation.

Mixed opinions.

Staying here is a once in a lifetime experience in a unique property. We were given an historical tour on arrival then left to enjoy the history. Yes it is still in the process of renevation but wow what a place to stay! Our children aged 10 & 12 loved sleeping in a jail cell with sliding metal grills.
The highlight though is definitely the roof overlooking beautiful Blois. We ate both meals up there and watched the sunset. It is lovely to see that the renovation is being done to keep everything as it was from the 13th Century.
This was the most exciting place we have ever stayed and we had so much fun there.

Unique, amazing stay

Very original accommodation: in an 11th-century dungeon, having served as a prison around the 14th century. The apartment that is rented is located on the ground floor of this tower: a jail with a double bed, a jail with 2 single beds, a kitchen jail, a jail with water and a reading corner. We slept well: good bedding, thick soundproofing walls, functional electrical heating, heating sheets, unusual dining room. Italian douche, recent sanitary, clean room. At the top of the tower, via a staircase of a hundred steps (which houses pigeons): access to the terrace with a 360-degree view and access to the city and into the kitchen and into the facilities: The Lounge & Breakfast Inn.

Atypical in the heart of Blois, ideal for visiting the city and its castle!

The curious thing about this accommodation is first of all the reviews - some really enthusiastic - that you can read on Tripadvisor, Booking and some other places that have been used as a prison in the distant past. The location and atmosphere in this historic building are simply stunning. Contrary to all expectations, it was neither cluttered nor wet and the beds were very comfortable. We were so excited that we ignored the missing breakfast. The view from the terrace is worth the slightly cumbersome ascent. No breakfast (coffee had it for a cup; coffee filters for a press run; jams ran out; loaves and croissants had to be bought yourself;) which would be no problem if there were no B&B or even breakfast served on the terrace event.

It's a great impression, but sadly it's dirty.

The guest prisons. Payment in time. It is true that not everything is finished, but the main thing to live in them with appropriate comfort is there (heating, shower, toilet, kitchenette, microwave fridge...) and even if there is no Internet or TV, the telephone and internet network work, which is not necessarily the case in some streets of Paris. The terrace offers a beautiful view of the Loire, the Château and all the monumental buildings.

Or sleeping in a prison and being able to just come out? An atypical place, full of history. Interesting historical explanations from the person who hosted us. What an example of heritage enhancement.

Unexpected and authentic!

Family 2 + 2 children (ages 8 and 9) The owner's house is timely and warm. The site seen from the outside is beautiful but the interior will deserve a better renovation. After the old door, one expects a complete immersion in the past. Unfortunately, one is quickly caught up with the present and the counter-plate waved to the ground that replaces the dozens of tiles laid on the sides. The rooms are old cells, quite narrow, a bit wet. The bedding is good.
