Skylight In-Terminal Hotel

I often stay at this hotel when I'm transiting through Addis, but this time felt really special.  I was welcomed at reception like an old friend by Wasihun and Hailegrorgis, and the check-in process was seamless.  My room was in perfect condition and very comfortable.  The food options for breakfast were better than before, and it's clear that all feedback is taken seriously.  Well done to the Skylight team!

This Skylark property is inside the airport terminal (you don't need to leave the airport) not to be confused with the other skylark property which is a 5 min walk outside. Very convenient when you have a long layover. Clean, comfortable bed with a good shower.

Amazingly convenient. Stayed the night on a layover and didn’t have to clear immigration at all, walked out to the gate 20 metres from my room in the morning. Modern and clean rooms with a pretty good breakfast included

Ideally situated in the terminal. A touch of luxury on your way home.

If you don't need to leave the security area, this is a good choice and the only choice. Not inexpensive but tolerable price. The rooms are nice and they're very clean. The bedding is comfortable. Climate control is good. Toiletries provided. Lighting in the room is provided only by electric lights and there is no natural light which is a bit of a negative, But the lights in the room are good. Tea and coffee provided. You can go with the breakfast option and it is cheaper than buying it. Food is expensive in the airport. Example: a cheese sandwich is $10 and a hamburger is $20.

It's very convenient to stay at this hotel and overall, the facitilites are good and there is decent wifi access. The rooms are not soundproof, however, so the loudspeakers from the departure hall can make it difficult to sleep.  There are good attemps with the breakfast buffet and I appreciated the delicous cappucchino.

First you need to understand what "in-terminal" means and how it relates to the nearby "not-in-terminal" Skylight hotel.In this case, "in-terminal" means the "airside" terminal (not citywide") so you go through transfers to the departure gates and then into the hotel.  You do not go through immigration and can't get your checked bags. If you made the mistake of "short checking" them to Addis only I'm not sure what they would do.  The Expedia description is very confusing because it largely refers to the other Skylight hotel as follows:1.  Says has airport shuttle but there can't be a shuttle in a place with no roads or cars.2.  Says 7 minute drive to airport.  But it's in the center of the airport!3.  Maps shows it on the extremity of the airport but it's in the very core of the departure gates. The main thing is if you want an airside, in-terminal hotel this is your only choice and it's pretty good. So take it. If you want a hotel near the airport then the other Skylight hotel is also good.  It's about 1/2 mile and technically you could walk it but no one does. The shuttle is frequent.  A clean sound safe deal but you pay for it if your only using it for a daytime transit hotel.  There is an early check in charge equal to half the night's rate. So keep that in mind if you land early in the morning.  Whereas I think the in-terminal hotel is 6am to 6am so works great if land early and leave late that night. Hope this helps!!

Convenient and modern

The hotel is very convenient, well kept and clean. It is the best thing ever in the airport for passengers in transit.

Room super convenient and has all the amenities though water in shower wasn’t as hot as it could be. Also the restaurant was a bit meh in terms of breakfast food options
