I highly recommend this hotel for its location, value for money, comfort, cleanliness, food, service, and charm. It met all our expectations as a pleasant base for exploring the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo on foot. The staff are friendly and efficient, the rooms are clean and comfortable. Loved the vibe and the decor too.

Great location. We really loved the character of the hotel. The restaurant was fantastic and staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was wonderful. It was even better than expected. The price was amazing. There were great restaurants within walking distance. Would definitely stay there again.

This is a small hotel with the mosquito brand touch, have been to most of the Mosquito Bars in Terrenas and they convert to gold whatever they touch (manage);  we had room 11 which was quite large, has a balcony and all the basics you need.   

You must keep in mind that this is not a five star hotel but a small chic hotel; they a great restaurant/lounge with superb food and drinks, we had a great breakfast in the patio and everyone was very attentive. 

If you one to stay at the Colonial Zone I will recommend this place for the location and the place itself.

We only stayed one night at this hotel after arriving late in Santo Domingo & it served as a perfect stopover for us. We chose the hotel based on the location in Zona Colonial so we could enjoy a morning walking around the old city the next morning before catching the bus to Las Galeres.

We didn't have too much dealing with staff since we arrived after midnight & were gone again the following morning, but the guy on the night desk seemed friendly enough & helpful.

We had a room on the ground floor which pleasant but the only slight negative was that it very slightly smelt of damp / mould. I don't blame the hotel for this though, since it is a very old building & should imagine this is mostly beyond their control.

Breakfast was decent & included and it was nice to enjoy this in the courtyard the following morning before checking out.

The lady on reception in the morning was also very helpful & helped advice us where to go & the times of the buses from the city to Las Galares. She also called a taxi to take us to the bus depot on time.

All in all, it was perfect for the price for an overnight stop in Zona Colonial.

Great location with a lot of activity nearby and plenty of restaurants and touristy things to do. It is the old town so a lot of cobblestone and narrow streets. The hotel itself is very pretty but I feel it needs a bit of maintenance. The hotel is two stories and no elevators. Breakfast was included, no swimming pool and very good AC.

We spent one night here while visiting the Zona Colonial. The room was cute, clean and fit with the historical context of the building. Great bedding, wonderful hot shower with good pressure and lovely toiletries. The air conditioning cooled our room very quickly. Our room was above the bar on a Saturday night so we didn’t get quiet until after 1 am .. every sound echoed up to our room so if an early sleep is important ask for a room away from the bar. Breakfast and the service was top notch and if you are there to walk to all the historic buildings this safe, lovely location is the perfect place to stay.

This hotel is perfect if you are planning to spend a few days in the zona colonial.
It's well located in the center of all the highlights Santo Domingo has to offer. Everything is within walking distance.
The service is perfect! The staff is great. Everybody was very friendly and helpfull! 

The hotel itself looks fantastic, a true boutique atmosphere. There is a nice courtyard where you can start your day with a nice breakfast. It is a cosy patio with lots of (haning) plants. Later during the day/evening you should visit their nice lively bar. Great cocktails and good food!

We booked the Superior Double Room. The decoration was a bit basic but it has a nice small balcony where you can relax and look at the locals and tourist stroll by. Keep in mind the hotel is located in the center of the zona colonial, the steet in front can be busy at night. If you are a light sleeper ask for a room around the courtyard.

Overall a great place!

The location offers espectacular views of Zona Colonial.  Loved the decoration, the food was very tasty and affordable.  For only $10 you get an all you can eat buffet and breakfast is included with the room rate

Its a cool hotel with a old school feel....... You just feel like your in Dominican republic....its a free breakfast...... And you can walk up the street for the main area in Santo Domingo.....if your guest stays the night you have to pay a extra 5 dollars... Everyone was friendly.......

We just showed up without a reservation and they gave us a nice room that was clean and had a balcony that overlooked the street. Free breakfast was good in the morning and the staff was extremely friendly.

Great place, old charm meets new world

We did not stay here, we just ate lunch here.  It is a very small buffet, only 5-8 different things to try, but ALL authentic...yucca, beans and rice, salad, chicken, pasta, beef...it was all delicious, very hot, and very reasonable.  We like to try authentic restaurants more than the showy places...this little hole in the wall is just that - and the ambience is really fun...they use old LPs for placemats, there is a lovely brick archway, it is just lovely.  Well worth the trek to find it!
