Fantastic
243 reviewsStayed for just over a couple of weeks and really thought the apartment (family room on 3rd floor) and location was fabulous as very close to Yau Ma Tei MTR. Close to Temple Street, and Nathan Road, with plenty of restaurants, cafes. They have a Wellcome, bakery and McDonalds close by too. The apartments is located on Shanghai Street which is known for catering shops and religious artefacts shops. I know for the same price we could have stayed at a hotel, but for just having the extra space, then there is no comparison. There is a small kitchenette which has an one ring induction hob with an extractor fan (the hood needs to be pulled out for the fan to work), equipped with a kettle (with some limited teabags, sugar and whitener), toaster, and depending on the number of people staying, the same number for dinner plate, bowl, knives, fork, spoon, Chinese spoon, chopsticks, mugs, glasses, wine glasses, stainless steel water bottles and teaspoons. Washing up sponge, cleaning cloth and washing up liquid are also provided. The fridge is of a good size, with a mini freezer compartment at the top. They also provided a large frying pan, small & large saucepans with a tin opener, one wooden spoon, one medium butchers knife and a chopping board. TV was a good size, connected to DVD player. Selection of DVDs could be obtained from reception area. We were also given a handy phone which we could make free calls in HK, to UK, Australia, India, Japan, South Korea, China, Canada, Singapore, Taiwan and US. This was handy using this as sat nav navigating the grid system roads, and googling for places whilst out travelling. Our room had a table which could sit 6 comfortably, as well as plenty of storage space on one wall of the dining area, and deep wardrobe spaces which allowed us to stow away our suitcases. There is a safe, ironing board, hairdryer in the cupboards. There are 2 washing machines and 2 tumble driers on the 12th floor (bring your own detergents). Each room has 2 laminated cards with room number. Just set the machines going and attach the tag to the machine, so that if you forget your washing, then someone knows who they belong to. The shower was of a good size (plenty of room for an opened umbrella there to dry) with fantastic water pressure. Complementary shampoo soap and shower gels are provided. There is a laundry line inside the shower which can be connected wall to wall (no pegs are provided). We would thoroughly recommend the apartments for those staying with children, mainly for the space and flexibility. Note: the kitchenette could do with more serving plates/dishes as currently they only provide enough plates for each person staying. The office team and housekeeping are fabulous. They speak good English and was able to help us with all sorts of queries ranging from trips, shopping, weather, culture etc. The staff only work office hours daily but there are emergency numbers available if needed. There is a combination of long lease renters and short stay tenants like us at this block, but very rarely bump into other guests. Please note that there is no direct lift from ground floor to 1st floor where the offices are. Luggage is placed into a service lift to get to 1st floor. Then transferred to the main passenger lift on the 1st floor which takes guests right up to 12th floor. Selection of Chinese and English newspaper available in the ground floor lobby daily. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, preferring serviced apartments to hotel. If you come across anything that is damaged or broken, please report immediately. There is an inventory sheet listing costs for replacement of items, and it’s not cheap!
