It's been awhile since I stayed in a B&B, I'm glad that I had the chance to experience once again. This was a wonderful experience especially for one night where you were just looking for a nice clean place to put your head down and have a breakfast the next morning. The visit was for only one night I wish I could have been a couple of days longer but I had to be on my way with my wife. This B&B is a good example of all all being B & B's should be, great hospitality absolutely perfectly clean and a wonderful breakfast the next morning.

One Night Stand

For us, as a couple, it was ideal.  We were very comfortable and everything we could possibly need or want was available to us.  We were able to store our bikes securely. We got first hand information about local biking/hiking from Rudi. We ate hearty breakfasts followed by home baked goods by Maaike that were such a thoughtful snack to take with us on our outing.  This couple was very polite and professional. We felt cared for and slept well in comfortable bed with A/C to keep us cool.

A perfect spot to stay in Vernon.  Maaike and Rudy are charming hosts; the rooms in this heritage home are lovingly furnished and the bed was terrific.  The ensuite bathroom was absolutely spotless.  As others have noted, two rooms have ensuites with only a half wall dividing them from the bedroom, but it was not an inconvenience.  

The breakfasts were delicious and abundant, featuring fruit and herbs from the garden at the home.  

I had booked 5 nights in July but due to a surrender family emergency, I was forced to leave after only 2 nights.  Maaike & Rudy were completely understanding and graciously released me from my 5 day commitment.  I would not hesitate to recommend The Richmond House and will definitely return.

Ideal Spot

Our room, the Tennison room, was very comfortable, tastefully decorated and we enjoyed a quiet, restful night. However, the bathroom section of the room is only separated from the bedroom section by a 5 ft high partition with a wide opening with no door. You better be very intimate with your bedroom companion to survive this arrangement. To shower, you have to climb into an old fashioned bathtub on foot. If you have mobility problems, that could be an insurmountable challenge. Maybe the other rooms don't have these problems. You better inquire with the proprietor before making reservations, 

The breakfast was excellent and very healthy and the hosts were charming and very helpful.

Very nice, quaint but not for everybody

This is our second stay at Richmond House and wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else in Vernon.  We attend family functions in Vernon often and the Richmond House is a great place to spend the night after gathering with family.  Maaike and Rudi go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.  Rooms are perfect and breakfasts are amazing.  Location is perfect and the guest lounge makes meeting new friends so much fun.  Thanks again and we will be back!

Awesome Once Again!!

We only stayed one night at the Richmond House B&B but we had a great time. The owners of this beautiful historic house in Vernon are available and kind, they make superb breakfasts on the porch and try to engage the guests by sharing their stories. The rooms are all upstairs (only accessible by stairs, no elevator) our was the Emily Dickinson: a creaky wood floor, a swing chair, bathroom with a bathtub with feet, furniture and once-flowered upholstery create a really romantic and relaxing atmosphere.

Characteristic and family-friendly B&B, super recommended

Imagine a night in a carefully restored 1890s heritage home. Very comfortable, very clean, well furnished with great attention to detail provided to guests... A delicious experience and a step back in time, while enjoying all the comforts of a modern bed & breakfast. Easy to find the way to Richmond House, and just off the main highway to Vernon. Kathy & Dinham form a very talented team, by its hospitality, its hospitality, as well as the preparation and presentation of every delicious breakfast jim.

A very pleasant experience going back in time, but with all the comforts of a modern bed and breakfast. Richmond House is easy to find, and it's just a short drive from the main highway through Vernon Lorraine. Kathy & Dinham are a pretty talented team, welcoming their guests and meeting their needs with their hospitality and also with the preparation and printing of a very delicious breakfast.

It's definitely worth the experience - highly recommended!

We've been to Richmond House B&B after we've been to many other B&Bs, and this B&B is at the top of my list because it's one of the best houses I've ever lived in. The gourmet breakfast was wonderful, thank you very much. The hosts were able to give us a lot of information about the area and give us tips on remote places to explore. We had so much fun!
