I very rarely bother to write reviews, but on this occasion i feel compelled.
Mara and her hotel staff offer service second to none. Quite simply providing 6 star service and comfort. Value for money is guaranteed!

The location is spot on...right on the riverside, walking distance to all the best restaurants and night life.

Will I return?....Too right i will.



A great place to stay right on the riverside. .can't recommend highly enough...friendly atmosphere with 5 star customer service...and comfortable modern rooms with everything you would expect...I'll definitely come back.

Maras is a great hotel / guesthouse in the tourist section at Riverside 
All the staff and Mara are Friendly and helpful 
The rooms are spotless cleaned, modern and the mattresses are incredible (no expensive saved there)
The staff are always around and you will feel like family 
This place is one of the best at good price

More of a high end boutique hotel than a Guesthouse. Mara, her sisters and cousins make everyone feel at home. Brilliant, friendly customer service with a smile and a joke. Rooms are spacious and modern. The lounge bar is really comfortable with a great Italian restaurant next door and Stonegrill restaurant over the road. Great value for money and the best place to stay in town.

Quick trip to Phnom Penh on way back from a project Visit, was booked into Mara Hotel
This is a traditional type "Shop House" building With Rooms on the upper floors
The ground floor is a small Bar/Coffee type place and check in was easy and fast
There is a spiral type staircase at the rear which is VERY small and very difficult if you have large cases to carry up.
I had the top floor room which is bigger and more luxurious than the other rooms, nice separate bathroom with walk in Shower nice basin and well laid out.
It also had a small Balcony overlooking the river front, all for $40 or so.
Mara runs a nice place and is very hands on in the running of the business, makes everyone feel very welcome.
They do not have a kitchen but there are many restaurants and places to get good food very close by, Mara will in fact order anything for you and have delivered.
All in all a very nice little place that is very comfortable and well run, I would not hesitate to come back here again, Thankyou Mara

I recently stayed a few nights at Mara guesthouse, and it was a very pleasant surprise. It exceeded my expectations in every way. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room very clean and nicely furnished, big wardrobe, flat screen TV, good shower. The bar on the ground floor was very nice, good selection of wine and cocktails. They do not have a kitchen, but can order food from the excellent Italian restaurant next store, and the California Guesthouse a few doors down has a good menu.
The location is good, right along the river but  quieter than  the main tourist area. The price is very reasonable,a good value property.
